They're just reaching the age where they're starting to realize shit sucks, and they're looking for something to blame, but they still have the optimism of childhood so they search for anything that promises them sunshine and rainbows.

do you remember u/hormelcoffee? that guy is still a cult classic in my mind, he was like the pet schizo asshole. The breaking point for MDE was the posts making fun of reddit co-founder's ape wife Serena Williams. I remember one prominent post that was a side by side of her primitive visage and a gorilla, and the sub was gone by tomorrow. Soon after that r/billionshekelsupreme came back public to let in the displaced r/milliondollarextreme refugees and every MDE related sub was purged by the end of the week. Good times.

honestly I think that made it better. The fact that it was basically just a dumb shitposting board where people said nigger and posted pictures of jews made AHS's constant fury at it's existence way funnier. Compared to voat which was basically nothing but blackpilled doomers angryposting, it was a lot of fun.

if you're looking for some weird hobo redditing check out r/vagabond. found a lot of pseudo-cows on there, and also just some funny posts in general. Sort by controversial on any big post and have a blast. In particular, u/MrArmenian is a bum that lives on the street in Seattle and posts on r/Anarcho_Capitalism lol

Slight PL but r/cringeanarchy was how I found the farms in the first place. I'm sure a few other people found it that way too. IMO it was a much better sub, even just shit posting, than anything Reddit has had to offer since (even MDE had to settle a bit after CA got euthanized :()

I hate this thread for making me aware of this. Like yeah, I knew these kinds of weirdos existed, but I’d rather continue living without the immediate knowledge of them and their recreational activities being brought to the forefront of my mind.

My one biggest regret is that none of these people are as bad as they are made out to be. If they were. Reddit would fucking burn.

The truth is if even 1% of the Donald or whoever users decided to destroy reddit they effectively could. Simply by targeting niche communities with limited mod squads and spamming some fucking atrocious shit on there over and over and over again like AHS until the mods get sick of it and leave. Flood the mod queue with false reports. Spam their inbox with "you'll never be a woman". Make thousands of shitty subs with no real purpose and extremely graphic content.

Instead they sigh and move their site over. It would be pathetic if it didn't prove how bullshit reddit is to freak out over them to begin with. Maybe if they responded by acting as bad as AHS I'd see reddit's point.

I am surprised nothing of the sort has happened yet, registration on reddit doesn't even require email which could allow the creation of a fuckton of bot accounts, like the corpos boosting their products do already.

The thing is that it probably requires someone to be mentally ill, a psycopath or extremely hateful to be able to "rise up" to AHS' levels. Take a look at parody/satire subs like AntiHateCommunities and AHS, which one actually seems more ridiculous? For example just this yesterday on AHS:

How do you even go there? Say that you're writing satire and think of that, I'm sure you would find that notion too unbelieveable to be used as a parody. Thing is, reddit has features to mitigate most of what you suggest, disabling DMs, ignore reports, needing an aged account to create subs, so it will take way too much time and effort to do something that might just be ignored.
