I took my shots too, but I'm in the same boat as you. You shouldn't be taking away people's fundamental rights to live their lives because they don't want to inject experimental vaccines into themselves. Ironically, if they'd gotten the maximum vaccination saturation they were going to get and then gone back to normal, a whole bunch of people would have gotten COVID and gained acquired immunity. Sure, maybe it would mutate as RNA viruses tend to do... make it a flu-shot-like booster then, since there is ample evidence the vaccines reduce the seriousness of infection by variants.
I guarentee you, if the government and the media hadn't sperged out about "muh vaccinations", 10%+ more people would have taken it. They very stupidly made it a political issue, and now you have a whole host of antiauthoritarian boomers joining the Jenny McCarthy style antivaxxer soccer moms they would have never associated with under other circumstances.
