This actually isn't as absurd or far fetched as it seems. Reddit is an overwhelmingly negative depressive hivemind that heavily encourages self harm, substance abuse, and social isolation.
I would not be surprised in the slightest if people who stopped using reddit were able to get some pussy after their mental health improved.

I was thinking the same thing. A huge reason this thread exists is because redditors are total socially oblivious and do hillarious things, then they post these things on reddit to see if they're the asshole or to convince them that everyone on the bus clapped or whatever. And redditors being in a similar situation give them asspats and reassurances and tell them "No no sweety, you yelling at that 4 year old at Wendy's was totally justified, like he wasn't even wearing a mask. What is he a Drumpf supporter?" If they got off reddit and were forced to tell these stories to someone with a grain of sense, they would immediately tell them "Wait no, that's goddamn stupid". Sometimes you see this happen on this very forum when some sperg wanders in and spills his spaghetti all over the place. Some of them will balk and double down, but at least a few are bound to reconsider their actions when literally everyone is telling them "Actually no, you shitting on that guy's yard was probably an overreaction".
Hell, you can see a mild version of this play out when you see someone use reddit jokes in real life, as they are almost always totally unaware that these jokes aren't going to land with anyone that doesn't use reddit, and more often than not won't even work on someone that does use reddit, but uses a different cluster of subreddits than them. Or if you go into any reddit comment thread and see basically half of it is unreadable because a bunch of oblivious fucks are making tired as fuck dad jokes that would have been trite by 2009 9gag standards.
