glad theyre reviewing it, Ive seen a lot of people defend this movie probably due to chromosomal abundance or something of the sort.

really, the only reason I can think of for why people have good feelings towards it is that they saw it on cable when they were 13.
if you recognize it’s stupid and shit but still enjoy it, that’s respectable and power to you.I think it's a fun little horror movie with some great imagery and some interesting (if derivative) ideas. I always dig stories about finding some abandoned, haunted locale -- I like Ghost Ship for similar reasons, even though it's mostly shit.
It's also widely considered a Warhammer 40k prequel.glad theyre reviewing it, Ive seen a lot of people defend this movie probably due to chromosomal abundance or something of the sort.

there are people who will unironically defend it as a “good” movie though, which is beyond me.
Calling it now, it's going to be "Best of the Best of the Worst", where they re-watch previous top videos and select between them for which one is the best of allMike votes Vampire Assassin
I’m a Warhammer fan too, so I’m also accustomed to having to dig through the lore’s cringe and feces to find the gold within Warhammer, but event horizon is completely unsalvageable. It's also widely considered a Warhammer 40k prequel.
Like not officially, but so many fans have adopted it, it's just about official.
what really bugs me is that these are also meant to be super qualified astro scientists sent on an incredibly important and dangerous mission, and theyre all unlikable idiots. They hit on one major problem with it that they could have spent more time on -- the characters are incredibly unlikable. You don't much care what happens to any of them, and you certainly don't want to spend a couple of hours with them.
This is also a problem with Alien Resurrection, a film I would not seriously defend except to say it has a large cast of characters, and that I noticed each one when they died. That's something, at least. They hit on one major problem with it that they could have spent more time on -- the characters are incredibly unlikable. fair enough, but my point still stands that a scientific/more professional/more intelligent crew would've been more appropriate for a mission like this both thematically and contextually.Like I forget which one of them pointed out, these people weren't space scientists, they were a space salvage/rescue crew. They fly out to stranded vessels and get the crew to safety. Still trained professionals at what they're doing, but they weren't scientists. More a space ambulance.
I feel like the RLM review is best preceded by the Critical Drinker recap/review. It helps you get in the mindset of the people who like the movie, and gives you a plot summary. Whether you agree or disagree with Drinker, RLM, or are somewhere in between. Drinker's not always great, but this is one of his good ones.Well if anybody here wants to see the movie defended.
