When Jack used to drink and his inner douchebag surfaced he could be genuinely funny. Sober Jack operates under a veneer of servile wokeness that creates a kind of uncanny valley effect and makes him as insufferable to others as he is probably is to himself.

I'm behind on this piece of RLM lore but is Jack confirmed for being a teetotaler? And do they really not pay any of the guests when they show up? I figured they'd throw something cursory at them like how you'd pay someone scale for a small role but obviously YouTube ain't exactly part of SAG or whatever.

I can't speak to who gets paid or not, but Jack personally admitted to having a drinking problem and kicking the booze on his Twitter feed. We covered it in this thread at some point, and looking back we were too nice to him about it.
 
Jack really has become concerning. He's the weakest link of RLM. They've managed to stay drama-free all these years too, and I'd hate to see AIDS Moby screw that all up.
 
Back when he was streaming with Rich, Jack talked about an article that was written about 'Alt-Right Youtube' and RLM was mentioned. He went to bat for the boys and asked the author "What makes RLM alt-right? or anything?" It is a bit sad to see him slide a bit.

Maybe they vetoed it after watching a few minutes because the movie starts off really bad and stays bad the whole way through (the last half is a fuck ton of filler). But then again, they kept watching Robowoman.

Jack has been bothering me for a while too. The only reason I saw Moviebob stuff on my twitter timeline is because Jack would retweet the asshole. People would constantly tell Jack that Bob is a piece of shit but Jack wouldn't have any of it. I finally had to block MovieBob's account so I wouldn't see that trash anymore.

On the Escapist he works with some guy named Darren Mooney (https://twitter.com/darren_mooney) who I only know because I listened to some Star Trek Discovery/Picard podcast just to see what other people were saying and the guy trashed RLM/Plinkett on the episode I heard him on.

I remember MovieBob not saying kind things about RLM in the past too. It is kind of concerning when you hang out people who trash your friends on a public forum. It is ok to have groups of friends who don't overlap and might not like each other, but it is the fact that they have that stuff out there and you still interact with them is a bit suspect.

If it's true that The Escapist pays Jack and RLM doesn't, and The Escapist insists on performative wokeness while RLM studiously avoids online drama (Shatner excepted) ... well, this whole sorry spectacle writes itself.

Granted, the HitB is already out, but not the re:View!
Hey everyone. We shot two videos this week. The first is a re:View of the 1997 not-classic Event Horizon. It's not a movie that none of us love or had even seen since it originally came out, so it's a slightly different approach for a re:View episode. And the other video is a Half in the Bag for Godzilla vs. Kong (that also goes a fair amount into a retrospective of the other movies in the "Monster-verse" or whatever you want to call it that lead up to this movie).
