I'm sorry to say I've never seen the Bill & Teds, they're probably one of the few big 80s and early 90s classics I haven't seen, just for whatever reason they slipped me by.
 
Finally got around to watching this one. Seemed like Jay was the big fan and Mike was someone who had seen and appreciated the movies but wasn't a die hard fan. Jay lead ReViews are pretty good because he does actual research and seems informed on minute details. Every time Mike had a question Jay had an answer. Also Mike seemed kind of drunk and mildly indifferent. He really hated on the princesses though. I agree that they didn't serve a purpose but I never felt like they didn't belong there. Like take it or leave it. The writers chose to give the boys a love interest because why not? I'm not convinced it was purely "not gays". Even Marty McFly has Jennifer, arguably she doesn't need to exist either so...

Hoping the third movie doesn't suck, it could really go either way.

Mike would say Jennifer was fine because an age difference in a relationship like Docs and Marty wouldn't be shown outside of a Kevin Spacey Bio Pic.

hearing good things about it but I won't go sailing the high seas or paying 25 bucks for a rental or whatever until I get the opinion of the two hack frauds. As an aside, I agree with Jay about movie theaters being hell on earth due to the mass of people who treat them like ShowBiz Pizza, but will this 20-25 price range for a flick really be the standard to watch a new flick to make up for the lack of tickets?

I guess the real question is whether they'd use a slide whistle or the splat sound effect for that joke.

I bought it. I enjoyed it, but Bill and Ted was also one of the first movies I remember seeing so it's pretty close to my heart. Even with that, I wouldn't really recommend it to someone for 20-25 dollars unless you have a group chipping in on the rental 4 or 5 ways.

I don't think they're going to enjoy it much. Not hate it, mind you, but it's not as fun as the first and it doesn't have those cool visuals like the second.

Rewatched excellent adventure with the wife recently after watching the hack frauds. It was nice to watch a movie that was just fun. No bullshit social message, no politics. Just a clean and simple buddy comedy film that brought genuine laughs.

It’s amazing how rare any piece of media is like that now.

They are two entirely different animals. I don't know if they would be able to sustain the same energy in Half in the Bag and I don't think they would want to. Half in the Bag is a lovable easygoing dog, and Best of the Worst is a fire breathing dragon mount: one is better, even though the other is everything it's supposed to be.

And Wheel of the Worst is a glorious nightmare manticore that breathes fire and vodka and is fueled by the cries of a thousand screaming souls. The absolute pinnacle of creation. Terrifying and awful and radiant.

It's insane. When gay acceptance first became a widespread thing, I thought it would result in a small (*proportionate to real life) number of characters turning out to be gay and it being treated as no big thing. I never thought we'd reach a time when either none of the characters in media are gay or all of them are.

Oh I wasn't implying HITB is bad, I just much prefer the 3-4 person dynamic.

21st Century: "OMG, if you won't make my gay ship headcanon real, I'll burn down your studio!"

It's better to just do the not-gays and get it over with than have audiences think too deeply about the issue.

That cricket in the background noise of this episode really kept getting in the way.

That was a Jessie episode, probably with the greatest "dungeon master's girlfriend" syndrome because they dedicated an entire segment for her to gush over it when everyone else was pretty underwhelmed.

Agree with the first part, but I think the rest of the group ended up genuinely enjoying the film well enough. IIRC they though it was a decent enough film, if a bit embarrassing to be involved with, and not wholly fitting of being labelled B movie schlock.

I feel sorry for the kid who had to be the lead for that movie as everyone in your school would know you as "that kid in the farting film." I imagine having such a kid in your class would be a bully's wet dream. If some director asked to cast my kid as a nerd in a fart suit, I'd either think he was a pervert or someone who is completely unaware of what a group of high school teenagers would do to a 12 year old boy who starred in a "nerdy farting superhero" movie.
