Both scenarios allow the writers to do what they want to push agendas without destroying prior storylines. Yet for some reason they want to put things adjacent, either before or after, in the timelines and fuck with everything. It can only be concluded they are doing it on purpose.

But then the corporations couldn't exploit your nostalgia.

His last reviews weren't event that great, so who cares? His old reviews of Episode I, II, and III are much better than his new reviews of the sequel trilogy.

While I agree that the contents of the Sequel reviews aren't as good as the Prequel reviews, there are some jokes that are gems in the recent ones.

I think they're entertaining videos in their own right.

Mike sometimes seems to have a similar opinion of Trek: episodic rather than serial; new adventures about exploration and mystery rather than political maneuvering and intrigue; weird new Forehead Alien of the Week rather than in depth examination of established alien races. To be fair, this is exactly the sort of fan Voyager was intended to cater to after DS9 had alienated a big chunk of them. DS9's reputation has strengthened over the years; at the time it was often regarded as the redheaded stepchild of the franchise.

to be fair DS9 has a different tone than VOY or even the other series. some might prefer it, some don't (someone said - can't remember where, the ST thread maybe - that picard could only could do and act how he did because guys like sisko were dealing with all the shit the federation at large didn't want to deal with).
from what I remember one of the reasons they like trek is because it's optimistic and shows humanity in a "good" future (I think it was rich in the galaxy "re:view"), and DS9 kinda threw shade on that.

These guys have fantastic insights into many films, but they're blinkered when it comes to their favorites.

not only their favorites, they can be quite subjective to borderline stupid when it comes to stuff, like jay's "rey isn't a mary sue" or going full cinemasins with independence day trying to find deep logic and nitpicking shit in a summer blockbuster disaster porn movie.

EDIT: just noticed the original post is a bit old, really should check dates before clicking reply...

Is the guy paranoid about copyright claims?
He's using a few scenes from Picard. CBS is quick to manually copyright strike any youtuber who uses their content. Nitpicking Nerd got a copyright strike on a video the other day, he didn't use any video, just a promotional picture from the 3rd season of STD.

>an unemployed construction worker, the trick monkey fraud of the group. knows two tricks: forced laughter and becoming violent. brava, rich! brava!

Jack
>a failed viral marketer with an ugly wife and children with terrible names ('myson packard?'). he knows he's the least popular cast member and desperately tries to fit in by making fun of reddit on stream

Mike
>an over-the-hill "director" weighed down by his talentless friends. only makes "ironically bad" videos because they're immune to criticism. his latest production 'Space Cop' will expose him as a fraud and be a spiritual and economic disaster. he will eventually go the route of orson welles, balloon up to 500 pounds and die at the ripe age of 50.

>the curdling definition of a parasite. ditters on her phone while the men do all the hard work. got caught buying jewelry with actual Patreon money.

Jay
>the only cast member showing any self-improvement or growth. still has a long way to go, but has already outgrown RLM.

I like how Reddit Letter Media is a company founded upon criticism, insulting and berating others and their works, but HEAVEN FORBID that anyone criticize them! They'll even ban you from their stream if they catch a whiff of dissatisfaction. It's amazing how creatively lazy the group has become. They were better when they were a starving group. Now they can sit on their fat asses, drink beer and make fart jokes while you throw money at the screen. Amazing.
