I hope they don't. Mando is actually a step in the right direction. It could have been literally "Fett survived, also he isn't a bad guy anymore :^)" but instead its semi new content. Also no Death Star.So how will they be reviewing the Mandalinian? Will it be a 2 man 2 parter(with dead Jay) like STD or will it be full on Plinkett?
Exactly. Just as the original Star Wars was a "reboot" of ye olde scifi serials & samurai films, Mandalorian is the same style of "reboot" of ye olde classic westerns."They fly now" brought me back to the Phantom Menace Plinkett review, when Plinkett said that black people don't go to Star Wars movies. Combine that with the Rogue One review (I KNOW WHAT THAT IS AND I CLAPPED WHEN I SAW IT), and the fact that niggers love repetition and recognizing things that they know, and you come to realize that Star Wars is, more than ever, for niggers.
It should have been (although it's still nice to have some live-action SW media with a Mandalorian protagonist). It's really strange how reluctant Disney has been to touch Boba Fett, considering how gleefully they've shat upon other fan-favourite characters like Luke Skywalker and Han Solo.It could have been literally "Fett survived..."
No, let Boba die in peace. I know he was revived in the pre-Disney EU, but that too was a total mistake. If you keep bringing things back to life, then loss itself loses meaning. Like it has in comic books; we all know any "death of your favorite hero" won't stick. Also there is more mystery, more to be gained, by the Mando not being Fett than otherwise. It should have been (although it's still nice to have some live-action SW media with a Mandalorian protagonist). It's really strange how reluctant Disney has been to touch Boba Fett, considering how gleefully they've shat upon other fan-favourite characters like Luke Skywalker and Han Solo.
But you are right. Fett is oddly spicy for Disney. His Empire-era career is wide open, but we don't hear a peep.
Ah yes. To think that Ewoks were the worst it could get.Fett was oddly spicy for the Sarlaac too. That's why almost no EU media has him actually dying in Jedi. I really doubt Disney is planning on leaving him dead. Fett returning in Jedi only to be killed by a random slapstick accident was as rage inducing at the time as Captain Phasma coming back for a single scene of TlJ to fall down a fiery shaft.
I would be so interesting to briefly go back in time to watch neolithic Star Wars nerds complain about Return of the Jedi, knowing that movie is sunshine, roses, and perfection compared with what was to come.
Maybe, but doubtful. Because ROTJ had a coherent plot to power it. TLJ is a pretty car with a shit engine.Ah yes. To think that Ewoks were the worst it could get.
I wonder if they'll say the same about TLJ in 30 years time.
Like the prequels? Which have already gained a cult following?Maybe, but doubtful. Because ROTJ had a coherent plot to power it. TLJ is a pretty car with a shit engine.
At the absolute very least, even if you (correctly) think the writing, acting, directing, and effects are trash, the prequels had some flashy fight scenes and a good helping of fanservice.Like the prequels? Which have already gained a cult following?
No, the total mistake was seeing the character's remaining at large in the galaxy as a loose end that needed to be wrapped up in an autistic little bow (by dropping him into a visual metaphor for Marcia Lucas's all-consuming vagina) for the final film in the trilogy, something even George Lucas himself eventually admitted. Explaining Fett's survival and escape from that situation is one of the unambiguously best things that the EU ever did.No, let Boba die in peace. I know he was revived in the pre-Disney EU, but that too was a total mistake.
If you kill off characters for the sake of a burp joke, then loss itself loses meaning. If you keep bringing things back to life, then loss itself loses meaning.
I would say even more rage-inducing, since, unlike Phasma, Fett actually did things, like track down the Falcon when no one else could and freely talk back to Darth Vader in a film where it was continuously emphasized that his other subordinates were scared shitless of him.Fett was oddly spicy for the Sarlaac too.
