Four. They did a pilot review, a mid-season review, a post-season review, and now it's the marketing for season 2 that finally gets them to admit it's not worth it to keep watching.

I feel like they tacitly admitted this when they did a full episode of Re:View dedicated to a series that doesn't actually exist.

I guess I might have missed their review of the pilot. I remember Mike (or Rich?) say that it was ok for the show to have a different art direction compared to TOS because "it's 2018" (it was the same argument used by CBS shills online). It was weird coming from them because they know that DS9 and Enterprise had episodes taking place on the old TOS sets and no one complained about that.

I'm sad there will be no more discussion on it (even though I would never watch it myself, it's always fun to see them discuss Trek), I'm glad they won't be wasting more time on it.

I'm sure we'll get one episode of the new Picard series when they realize it'll just be more of the same shit too. Too bad, because Star Trek Galaxy as proposed by them sounded great.

Fuck Kurtzman; give it to these guys, or at least the fans in general.

For Mike, Rich was saying that in a previous video

Rich was 100% done with the series after the pilot and only watched the rest because Mike made him, by their own admission.

I think Mike wanted to give the show a fair chance and he's such a Trek nerd that he really wanted a good Trek show.

That whole bit in the Short Trek video about how he was so excited there was a new Star Trek series and that he wanted to do a per-episode review series (a level of effort RLM has never tried to do before) made me feel bad for him, tbh.

Yeah, despite Mike being the literal poster boy of alcoholic cynicism, he has always struck me as the most earnest fanboy of the RLM team. He wants to believe that the franchises he loved will make a proper comeback, so much so that he will overlook their early faults and affix onto any good points he finds in such reboots and assume that once the show/movies "find their footing" that they will be able to live up to his hopes.

I sympathise with the nigger, dont get me wrong, especially since at this point I fear that he has straight up run out of cherished franchises that have not been turned to shit, which I can honestly relate to.

To be fair, it did take two or three seasons for Next Gen to finally get its shit in gear, same with DS9, so it's easy for me to empathize with him holding out on STD.

Having said that, you can tell he seemed legitimately angry in the Plinkett reviews of Last Jedi and especially the Ghostbusters reboot.

I knew from the second the helmsman called Michael "Number One" in the pilot that Discover was going to be shit. Not only is it gross insubordination to refer to a superior officer by a cute nickname while on duty, its also shameless pandering to the nickname Picard gave Riker in Next Gen (but note that PICARD is the only one who refers to Commander Riker this way).

Hey buddy did you see that nerd?

I always thought Rich Evans looked like Richard Williams, the animator. Maybe in a few years:
