Was Rich even a major component of Red Letter Media until BotW started up? I mean you had the Plinkett Reviews (Mike) and you had Half in the Bag (Mike and Jay).

Rich is definitely a big component of BotW and why those episodes worked (specifically him being Mike's punching bag), but so was Jesse and they had no problem dropping her like a rock.
I'm not sure about when he officially became an employee of RLM (or whether it even is official) but he's been making things with Mike since they were in highschool together. And Mike and Rich have been making stuff with Jay since they were in film school together (like their Cleaning Lady film and Gorilla Interupted). He was also interviewed for the Phantom Menace review (the part where people - including Jack and Gillian - are asked to describe Star Wars characters).

Before the Phantom Menace video made them popular he also played Plinkett in a review of an Olsen twins video:

And I doubt they'd ever drop Rich from RLM, they've all been friends with each other and worked together for a long time. Rich and Mike have been friends for most of their lives at this point.

God yes. By my understanding Harry Plinkett is Rich and Mike's creation from long before rlm. Mike's criticised idiots who call rich "fake Plinkett" because Rich's portrayal predates rlm by a considerable margin.
Personally my headcanon is either
a) Mike!Plinkett is actually Harry Plinkett/Rich!Plinkett's father, the kind of guy who would come home and beat his wife and fuck his kids
b) Mike!Plinkett is actually the schizophrenia induced alter ego of Mike from Half in the Bag that he embraces to act out his serial killer/solo movie critic fantasies

At this point Mike & Rich are Hollywood's most faithful couple.

The thing about Jesse is that some redditors were creeping on her hard so she didn't want to appear on camera anymore.

If you watch the Last Vampire on Earth spotlight video, they mention that Mike, Jay, and Rich made up some character that was like the director of that movie

Yeah IIRC there was something about a tumblr blog obsessed with her ankles that was the "fuck this im out" point for her

Or maybe it was a mix of both?

I'm going with blaming it solely on the internet weirdos, since I cannot imagine what kind of woman would break up with the adonis-like beacon of joy, positivity, and sobriety that is Mike.

My headcanon is that Mike films Star Wars reviews in a persona making fun of his boss.

Decided to give the haunting of hill house a go on the basis of recommendation from Mike and Jay and glad I did.

Will the next best of the worst be before the Christmas one or is it the Christmas one?

I just looked up Caulkin and he was in Jacob's Ladder (uncredited) as Gabe and he's going to be in an upcoming movie called Changeland. I did not know that

Going with the similar theme from earlier years (Christmas or C...) I really hope that we might get a 'Christmas or Culkin' episode.
Am I the only one who wants them to watch more weird-ass Christmas movies like Johnson Family Christmas Dinner and The Christmas Tree?
