How did this wind up on Ellen?
Julia Roberts apparently worked as a "Showbiz Pizza Bear" when she was a teenager and Ellen/her staff probably just googled "Showbiz Pizza Bear suit," found that picture and used it to rib on Julia Roberts.

Anyway, on the RLM subreddit people are speculating whether this media attention will lead to RLM's problematic behaviour being called out:

These people are over reacting. I don't think this will lead RLM to changing the way they do things.

I think it's only a matter of time before the leftists turn on them for their problematic humour.
The larger and more mainstream RLM gets the closer they get to that happening, it's just inevitable.

And if their business gets fucked-up they would basically have to react: their income is based around Patreon and Youtube - both progressive platforms which remove people for "hate speech".
Without Youtube there would be no distribution method for their videos and without Patreon there would be no financial backing (I mean, they probably make money from Youtube but it's got to be dwarfed by their Patreon earnings).
If SJWs really tried they could probably cause a lot of issues for RLM by mass flagging their videos that have racist/sexist jokes in them or by reporting them to Patreon.

They've gone unscathed for so long by not being popular enough for anyone to give a fuck (they do well on Youtube but compared to the larger people on the platform they're nobodies).

And I'm kind of interested to see how they would react to that happening.
We know from their internet postings and things they've said in videos that Jack and Josh (Josh is the fat bearded guy who's on Best of the Worst some times) are SJWs, but they happily turn a blind eye to the problematic humour of the other guys. Would they push for the whole "we're sorry for our past behaviour but we're good people, now" or would Rich, Jay and Mike try to find new platforms or just go back to shooting weddings?

I can understand why people in this thread don't even want to entertain the idea of these guys being attacked, we all love their content. But it is going to happen, eventually.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens. If it happens.

I wouldn't see Jack betraying his friends. Still not sure why or how Josh is on their shows but whatever with him.

If Dick Masterson still has his patreon I'm sure RLM will be fine. Then again I'm sure there are powers in Hollywood who'd love to see them hurt.

Josh is the weak link in the chain both on screen and off, that fat fuck is the one who's Twitter people should keep an eye since he's a sjw and of the five mains the one most likely to throw the others under the boss

Your speculation about them being deemed problematic and backing down because of it doesn't line up with reality. They were flamed constantly this past summer for their Last Jedi Plinkett review, were branded part of the manbaby squad for the Scientist Man video on Ghostbusters, etc. Every time it happens they make oblique references to how retarded it all is in future videos. That's essentially where the "Have you seen <movie> yet? Not ye-WHY NOT?" meme came from.

Neither RLM nor, more importantly, their audience, gives much of a shit about how they're perceived politically, and until someone either at Patreon or Youtube decides to make their life difficult, there's no cause for fear in terms of their reputation being slandered as a consequence of more mainstream attention.

These are guys who watch shitty VHS tapes from the 1980's for fun, they're never going to have a massive mainstream audience no matter how many interns at Ellen are closet memelords.

If Julia Roberts shows up on a BotW or Re:View I will lose my fucking mind.

Besides think positively:
  1. Rich goes on Ellen, converts millions in America to follow him
  2. ???
  3. Mike & Jay put in charge of Star Wars.
Could totally happen.

Oooh a lesser known RLM member coming to the forefront?

Lets see how he does....

EDIT: eh, kinda bland but not too obnoxious

Also Rich Evans was on peak performance today. His elderly posh english lady impression brought tears to my eyes

I think Rich Evans will fly first.
