Sorry for the late response. His entire presentation was based upon putting forth a youtube video that had no visual representation of his arguments. I, as a viewer, was expected to listen to his complaints without anything to look at, other than Battlegrounds footage. He had to get it out there first.

When he would complain about the film, there was nothing for me to visually compare against. It was simply him showing Battlegrounds footage and telling me why TLJ sucked. Eventually, he would show more (uninspiring) footage, and ask me to listen to him, complaining about this movie that I've apparently seen in my mind.

It's really not anything personal, but when I say it's not worth the the time of "free thinking critics," i mean that he's not talking to anyone. He's vomiting out his opinions without visual representation. I need to have seen this movie to understand where he's coming from.

But guess what? I haven't seen this movie. Iv'e watched Mauler's vid and I've watched RLM's. RLM's explains it to me better.

@samuraicrack Absolutely no hard feelings. We apparently differ in opinion. Nothing wrong with that.

Well I can say that MauLer would LOVE to put clips from the movie in his video, but we all know why he can't...

So wait, why can RLM do that? My assumption has always been that MaUlErRR wants to beat the crowd with his UnBrIDlED RaGE, videos, but does so when there is no real legal footage to be had (fair use included.) If he waited until he could use footage as fair use, my opinion would be different. This is what my whole problem has been about. He has to beat everyone to unbridle his rage with, but all I get out of that is that he just has to be first, and compensates with 4 hours of unedited content. I'm sure hea has points, but the kid would just rather be first, show Battlegrounds footage, and cite "remember that time in the movie when..."

Mauler will probably be pretty good one day. He ain't that good today tho.

Um. His 4 hr critiques are different from the unbridled rage. The latter are his immediate reactions to movies and typically only a couple of hours maybe. The 4+ hrs is his indepth, deep critique which you can notice often comes out later than others.

Just like how RLM did a half in the bag review of TLJ then did a plinkett review and IIRC Plinkett's is longer. Same kind of thing.

The 4+ hour has the exact same limitations I mentioned before. Excuse me for citing UnBRirDlED RAAGE

This review reminded me that I have actually seen the Psycho remake ages ago. What a horrifying memory to come back. Though, I do like their theory that it was a major fuck you to the studio by the director, but who knows.

I'm actually interested in seeing the sequels now. I always thought they were complete shit, but what they showed in the reviews actually looked pretty good.

I remember seeing it with a guy I knew in college who proclaimed, "This was a necessary remake." That guy is now a published novelist who's written a dozen or so issues of Deadpool. There is no God.

Part 2 is a great followup and a genuinely great film. Part 3 is a lot of fun and has quite a few fans. 4 is okay.

I want to rewatch part III and Blood Simple, in the name of comparison.

Actually, I want to rewatch all of the Psycho films. I had written them off (the sequels, namely.)

Psycho II suffers from some of the same problems as 2010: it follows such a bona fide cultural touchstone that no matter how good it might have been it will never measure up.

Psycho 2 is still really, really, really good. Making a film on par with Hitchcock is damn near impossible but Psycho 2 comes super close to matching Hitchcock.

I'll put it like this: it's a better followup to a classic film by a legendary director than 2010: the Year We Make Contact.

I think 2010 is a good enough science fiction flick, but it's probably incomprehensible to anyone who doesn't remember the Cold War.

Just realized that since it's October, we should be getting a Halloween episode of Best of the Worst soon. Those have been pretty reliable.

Hopefully they find another one of Rich's childhood photos that can spawn a meme. It's gonna be hard to top "Dick the Birthday Boy".
