I hate that films have become a political purity test for both sides.

There were things I liked about The Last Jedi and things I didn't, and unfortunately, falling into that middle ground makes me a simultaneous Nazi, sexist bigot, and a soy-boy, dickless cuck.

Is that reasonable? No, but its 2018, and nothing makes sense anymore.

Maybe it’s because Lycan colony is incomprehensible but this review felt shallow compared to the other spotlights. Would have appreciated them adding in the director commentary like all the other spotlights had.

Maybe they couldn't or didn't want to because the guy sounded that pathetic? It's possible they felt pity for the guy. He is a furry after all. And I thought the spotlight was their usual best.

My impression was his commentary was superimposed over the movie unlike others where it was a separate feature so probably hard to understand and too much effort to noise cancel the movie to just get the commentary. Also if they really pitied him, they wouldn’t roast his movie.

I know a lot of people don't feel like it but there is a real difference between trashing a work and trashing a person.

I mean Birdemic is a piece of shit, but I'd buy James Nguyen a drink any time.

I know Jawsh gets a lot of criticism (particularly from our own Jawsh) and I will be the first to admit he is at best unfunny in Best of the Worst, and at worst an absolute buzzkill, but honestly in these re:View episodes he is pretty damn good. To be honest this is unsurprising because RV has always been the "soberly and (mostly) seriously discuss the history and context and impact of this film/franchise while occasionally making amusing observations" show, and for this Jawsh is perfectly suited and he is a great bouncing bored for discussion.

Nah, MauLer’s great. I agree he can definitely be more concise and to the point but acting like he has nothing to offer with his videos makes me think you haven’t seen anything beyond his Unbridled Rage videos.

I don’t even really get what you mean by not being worth the time of “free-thinking critics” when he manages to make people who think TLJ wasn’t bad despite its massively negative reception insanely annoyed. It just kinda sounds like you dislike him because he booty blasted someone you like.

Sorry for the late response. His entire presentation was based upon putting forth a youtube video that had no visual representation of his arguments. I, as a viewer, was expected to listen to his complaints without anything to look at, other than Battlegrounds footage. He had to get it out there first.

When he would complain about the film, there was nothing for me to visually compare against. It was simply him showing Battlegrounds footage and telling me why TLJ sucked. Eventually, he would show more (uninspiring) footage, and ask me to listen to him, complaining about this movie that I've apparently seen in my mind.

It's really not anything personal, but when I say it's not worth the the time of "free thinking critics," i mean that he's not talking to anyone. He's vomiting out his opinions without visual representation. I need to have seen this movie to understand where he's coming from.

But guess what? I haven't seen this movie. Iv'e watched Mauler's vid and I've watched RLM's. RLM's explains it to me better.

@samuraicrack Absolutely no hard feelings. We apparently differ in opinion. Nothing wrong with that.

A Jay-and-Josh-review and I was more surprised the first minute was in color than when they switched to black and white.
