Rich: "Duet is written like a play"
Well yeah, it's based on The Man in the Glass Booth by Robert Shaw. There was a movie adaptation:

Also when Rich said the final episode was the introduction of one of the best Star Trek villains I thought he was going to say "Keiko O'Brien".

So Mike refers to the prostitutes seemingly as "sex workers" and my question is why if you're gonna censor it anyway? I'm pretty sure saying prostitute doesn't get you flagged.
The rules of what gets flagged or not change so often on social media that you need to be proactive. And almost future proof your posts or videos. And even then you never know when something might get DMCA abused for nothing. Or just bombarded with flags for 'violent content' or whatever because it goes viral on the wrong social media board and gets overrun with requests.

It's not just Rich. Americans can't pronounce ANY foreign names for shit, fictional or not. They're surprisingly consistent about it.
its because you spend your entire life being taught that you're a retard if you fucking dare pronounce words the way they're spelled, you just have to memorize and assume each name has some pre-built scam shoved into it. while the rest of the planet has a very high trust relationship with words and assume that everything is spelled like it sounds. probably doesn't help how often some guy on Ellis island decided to misspell a name and force a familial line to stick with it forever.

people need to admit these guys are your typical well meaning Gen Xers, same way Gavin Newsom or Ben Affleck are. like Jay might be annoyed at having to say "grape" instead of "rape" but he's also the type to go "case of the no gays" and whine about the racism and sexism in 1900s entertainment and get very uncomfortable about nudity and sex scenes in slasher films. I'm semi-impressed they haven't revealed how tolerant they are of trans people yet. you know they're the type to whine about pronouns but will do everything to make sure trans people are accommodated and use them correctly anyways. its exactly like them complaining about the theaters when we all know who they're talking about but they pretend its an "everyone" thing

Its also silly for guys making at least a 50k a month on patreon to even bother caring about censoring or demonetization as much as they are, they've made at least $5 million just off patreon alone and live in cheap ass Wisconsin, why are these middle aged dudes acting like they're still in their 20s and need every red cent possible? MoistCr1TiKaL is half their age and turned off monetization just because he feels like its too greedy and i doubt he's made that much more than these guys off his fanbase.

edit:thanks for catching that typo Mola Ram.

Did Jay ever get visibly uncomfortable about nudity and sex scenes, though? I'd have to see some proof to believe that allegation because it seems like it's taken for granted at this point and I don't understand why. He must've seen dozens of cheap, sleazy horror movies with actresses like Debbie Rochon or Tina Krause (who was in his own movie, The Recovered). Jack on the other hand is a great example of that because he always frowns and gets very histrionic whenever he sees something that would shock an 80-year old woman.

The closest I've ever seen is them saying something along the lines of "oh honey, not for this movie." More so saying that it's not worth it to do it for this particular trash, but I wouldn't call it discomfort. Otherwise, they're very positive about nudity or sex in movies and have repeatedly found it weird zoomers don't like it in their films.

They don't seem to have a problem with nudity per se; they do seem to have a problem with nudity when done for pure exploitative purposes. Their Death Wish III discussion touched on Marina Sirtis's discomfort with the nudity required for a rape scene, for instance, and how the director was creepy about leaving her breasts exposed to light them properly.

Of course, both Death Wish III and The Item are reviews from eons ago, so maybe they've pussied out since then. But I don't really think so.

This is the first RLM video I've watched in a few years, and it genuinely gave kind of depressing vibes. Its two men who are both almost 50 wistfully remembering media from their youth and hoping that their passion will spread to the younger generations, when they could have easily at any point had children with the patreon $$$ and actually have had young people who they can show what they care about to. Mike particularly, I think the concept of having a legacy or passing down your passion is finally weighing on him. It must be sad, I'd feel bad for him if it weren't for the starving African comments.

I thought he said sluts.
Indeed, he did say "sluts." There wasn't a long enough bleep to say "sex workers."

to all/no one:
Also -- again -- it's a case of the not-gays when RLM freaks out about heterosexual behavior in movies.

And @Hentai-Semitism are you including Canadians as "Americans?" I ask because it seems as though you haven't heard a Canuck say the word, "taco." It's delightfully jarring. In my observation, USA people are better at casual New World Spanish and everyone else sucks ass, while the opposite is true when it comes to French & its loan words -- I go out of my way to never use them because my own pickiness won't allow me to use the common mispronunciations just to avoid weird looks.
