Honestly the Christmas special kept me more engaged than the last few episodes of BOTW have. I had no idea Rapsittie Street Kids: Believe in Santa had such a high profile voice actors cast. Sure, I wouldn't rank it about some of the all time classic BOTW episodes, but it was an enjoyable watch overall.
TBF, RSK:BIS had been reviewed before from Phelous to Nostalgia Critic, so you may not had heard of other videos about that.

Oh hey, the movies miss me! Maybe there are some really good ones in theaters...

Fuck you, it's the Christmas movie season.
I've heard really good things about Housemaid and will probably stream it at some point. It's actually already made $20m or so over the weekend which is about 10x more than Christy did during its run. I figured it would bomb like most of her movies, but I guess that's not terrible for something like this. $35m budget, so still is just ok. You'd think with her fame her movies would do better than they are.

I am disappointed with how lazy they are in their own critique of AI. They even talk about how they laughed at the Stephen hawking videos, but then refuse to engage why they aren't art.

Like, you can make the same argument about many rap songs, they take bits of other songs and combine them together. We still feel that they are a new artistic creation. What about all the magic done with computers, which before had to be done by hand? Their is still a whole bunch of artistry that foes into that, even though its often using physics simulations and AI underneath. Do they just hate that now art been democratised, that the skill level to create art has gone down?

Like I get hating AI slop, and shit art. But you know Jesus in a piss jar is shit art, and faggots defend that shit.

Seriously, at least have some fucking decent arguments. This was just lazy. As lazy as AI slop.
Lots of things are technically "art" that have no value. See: most modern art.

By the same token, things that have value might not be art. The capabilities of algos are fascinating, but what they produce isn't art. By definition it can't be.

Jack Packard, aka skinny Movieblob, declared he was a "big believer" in Rick & Morty style nihilism at the end of the latest Christmas BOTW. Color me shocked.

anyone else just not watch or enjoy BOTW? RLM are nowhere near mystery science theater level of wit, those guys not only watched the films beforehand but wrote jokes out.

If you believe Reddit is an adjective like I do then yeah, BOTW has definitely become that. It's a shame because even if they are amateur filmmakers they would probably have some interesting things to say about how these bad old films are made. Instead they would rather just hoot and holler at cheap gore.

This is one of my favourite moments of Red Letter Media. I come back to it every once in a while. Mike's impersonation of a harsh and mean school bus driver is so good.

I'm sure it's a kind bus driver who's being interviewed, though.

I'd say that they're extremely reliant on the material they're given. In general, BOTW used to be better than it is now but if they hit some gold it can still bring a lot of laughs. The recent BOTW Halloween for example had some really funny movies so I enjoyed it quite a bit.

I think part of the problem is that the RLM style of humor has just not aged well because the whole Gen X sardonic perspective-from-nowhere thing doesn't work in a modern context as well. Too much has happened and they can come across as extremely out of touch with the state of things. My favorite person on RLM isn't even any of the main three anymore, it's Tim Higgins because he's just a goofy sconnie drunk.

I do enjoy BOTW but now that you bring it up, their hostility and dismissive attitude towards MST3K is my least favorite aspect of RLM's collective personality.

Some (all?) of them even claim to have not seen it, which I don't believe for a second. Everyone born in that generation watched MST3K.

I'll be charitable and assume that they're just annoyed by people comparing them to MST3K and grew frustrated about it over the years, which I guess is understandable.

Could you explain what you mean by this? I'm curious about what you're trying to say here.
