This is probably way too late to ask and hopefully this hasn’t been asked before. But I want to say that 5-6 years ago, there was this wanna be horror egirl YouTube channel ‘Shan O’blivion’ who made about 3 video essays on Red Letter Media. I believe the videos were

-I’ll talk about Nukie if RLM doesn’t
- Jay’s personal/2nd YouTube channel
- and a retrospective on rlm’s “how not to make a movie” documentary

I found them interesting around that time because while many people were doing YouTuber video essays, RLM seemed to be a very niche subject. Even “drama” videos were very few fat between.
About 3 years ago, Shan deletes the RLM videos. And on a community post she states that she was asked very nicely to do so. Whatever was said caused not only for Shan to delete her RLM videos but also all her other videos and stopped making any more videos. On her instagram stories, she sometimes makes vague references about someone from RLM having reached out to her and her being bummed out about it. They probably reached from one of their brand accounts and she doesn’t know who actually messaged her.

This is probably a huge nothing burger but I always found it interesting.

Back when actresses needed to be at least an 8 to qualify. Now Hollywood chooses 3(Bella Ramsay), 4, 5 (Zendaya), and 6s(Florence Pugh) as leads in movies.

Miramax really was a necessary component to good casting.

Did anyone archive those videos? There are plenty of RLM essays IIRC and none of them get takedown requests. Very odd, the only explanation I could think of aside from nothingburger is that she regurgitated some rumor from Reddit or a message board that is really just hearsay and they are tired of people believing in. IDK how many views those videos had before takedown, but if they had a fair amount then that could be an explanation.

I kind of empathise with the stick up Mike's arse regarding some of the star wars stuff. The plinkett videos were what put RLM on the map. It legitimized them. Now, nearly 15 years later, half the internet doesn't know/remember the past correctly and blames them for all kinds of wild shit or they just have gaping pieces of context completely missing from their arguments. Plus Mike is a trekkie, not a star wars nerd, so he's genetically driven to dislike the fandom (this actualy annoys me because he is so much more charitable with his brainpower towards Trek crap). Thinking about it, the last star wars video he did should have been a revisit of TPM and the original review, just saying what he wants to say, clarifying shit, and then just moving on and not making himself look salty going forward.

Mike's version of Plinkett was originally created as a tongue-in-cheek outlet to rip on the TNG films, and while he was similarly harsh on them as he was the prequels, he still references the films fondly in the Disco/Picard Re:Views with Rich. Outside of Trek and Wars, what else did he review as Plinkett? Avatar, Cop Dog, fucking Baby's Day Out...I genuinely believe he didn't intend for the prequel videos (or anything Plinkett-related) to have been taken that seriously nor for them to explode into the absolute juggernauts they currently are. That being said, he does seem to enjoy rubbing salt in his own wounds (last month's Plinkett video was rough) so my sympathy can only go so far.

The titty eyes/Spider Man story is pleasingly surreal, I could see that in the hands of a talented filmmaker being something decent, the other two segments are nonsense though.

That was a great episode though, I like how the wacky Half In The Bag plotline is something actually happening.

It showed up in a Ken Russell film, Gothic. Even then it was drawn from the recollections of either Byron or Shelley, one of whom had a laudanum induced hallucination where Mary Shelley appeared to have eyes for nipples. Gotta admit I was kinda bummed Jay didn't recognize the source; I'd...

When you know someone's face already, then they fuck it up, it hits differently.

And injectables have a way of hardening and shifting and aging a young face prematurely:
