Kimmel is an actor, so whatever he said about Kirk's death (I really don't care) was probably written by a screenwriter anyway.
Yeah but Kimmel still has to approve of the script plus firing "him" cans the screenwriter and probably dozens of likewise undesirables.
i think they just wanted to get rid of kimmel because nobody watches tv anymore, if the jimmy kimmel show was the hottest piece of pussy in town, and everybody was watching it and it was making tons of money they wouldnt have fired him at all, he'll probably get the job back after a month anyway

I just remembered how Oswalt was the one who had to weigh in on Bill Cosby being exposed as a lifelong, scheming, drugging rapist by saying that "the worst thing about it is the hypocrisy." Norm Macdonald got a bit out of shitting on this:

I know this isn't the Patton lolcow thread but it might as well be. Didn't he advocate for canceling his "friend" Dave Chappelle for daring to mention trannies in his stand-up act? He doesn't have a leg to stand on, and whether they deserve it or not I feel like the Halloween special's comment section is going to be a minefield.

I hope Patton keeps his characteristic insufferableness and it's not too late to just call off his appearance out of fear of controversy. Their last Halloween episode with the nepo kid was a chore. It's all too much.

Speaking of, they weren't exaggerating with the horse scenes in Devil Story. It's genuinely maddening. I always hated that movie.

Thankfully not the Oswalt one, so I guess I'll watch this.

Pretty funny one really, maybe they will do War of the Worlds, one of those more rare times lately they do a bad modern one.

I tried to watch it a few months before the BOTW episode and I just couldn't finish it, even though it's just 76 minutes. The horse scenes were way too repetitive, especially that one sound they keep playing over and over. It's definitely a different experience when you watch it alone and sober.

Maybe they were being ironic, but I had to close the video after hearing mike say unalive and unaliving. I thought they were above that shit.
They were, towards the end he goes 'I even tried to say all the correct youtube talk like unalive'.

I may be in the minority when I say that I don't give a fuck if they're being ironic or not - If it has Beardfat-approved language concessions, I'm not interested.

Again, this clip feels like something Rich and Mike could do, and do well if they weren't too focussed on shitting everything up

Even ignoring his dogshit political opinions, Oswalt is such an unlikable and unfunny person. I don't know how he ever had a career.
He's also physically ugly and repulsive so he doesn't even have looks or youth going for him. You will tolerate an obnoxious Margot Robbie or Jon Hamm if you need a leading actor or face for your work. Oswalt can't even be silent eye candy as he's a goblin shaped slob. He offers nothing to anyone other than maybe wife killing and coverup techniques for potential spouse annihilators. His one area of expertise.

But I suppose show business needs its freaks and monsters to play serial killers or child abusers (Oswalt played a molester on HBO once). Or Circus freaks and other undesirable types when they don't have time to CGI in a living monstrosity to shock the audience with its hideous presence. Oswalt is just one of those "I was rightfully bullied as a kid" losers who gives off creep energy and is now on his adult victory tour to prove he always had "it".

God, I fucking love how dumb and gay his ancient evil bullshit is and how he can't seem to understand that we're no longer in Ernest Cline's America where you get to be right just because you're a liberal who referenced old nerdy pop culture thing. It's the same feeling you get when you look at the fat faggot with the Captain America shield at ICE raid the other day. And I extra love how the RLM thing with him guesting is barreling down on us and the buildup is just getting cringier and cringier.

The "I was being ironic" excuse irritates me. You can't say: "I'm not gay; I was sucking his dick ironically!" You're just a fag. (Not you, Raptor Jesus -- I'm talking about the people who constantly hide behind "doing things ironically")
Being alone with their old, conservative grandparents is probably every Hollywood screenwriter's nightmare.

Not only that, I can't get over how many scary movies are about rapidly/prematurely aging. I know these people are vain as hell, but it's interesting to see their attitude toward aging.

And if that's the whole premise of the movie -- that old people are sucking the youth out of young people and that the threat is turning into a gross old person, they should have cast a hot young woman as the lead -- not Pete Davidson, who already looks like a zombie ghoul.
