They really are becoming giant faggots. I get so annoyed when they are just criticizing what other people said or think about it instead of acctually talking about the movie.
Modern Mike wouldn't have the balls to talk about "the urban market"
Its not even that they have to censor themselves for youtube, the patreon is the majority of their income. They could just host their videos on their own site where they get 100% of the ad revenue. They are just giant faggots that say nothing and waste time.
This feels like it would have been better as a "scientist man" episode. Because this one is very similar to what they did for Minecraft and the death of theaters, where the movie isn't the interesting part, they don't care, what they care about is the audience's reaction and what that says about the movie going public nowadays. I wish they would bring scientist man back, he was very succinct and funny.
Like it or not, the people smearing this movie for being pro-immigration or woke or whatever are putting its name in the headlines, they're doing promotion for it and that's what studios like. So we get bait articles that play up how big the message actually was, which is why they showed that pro-immigration article with a fart sound effect. It's the same thing that happened with Ghostbusters, none of it really matters because there will be a new interpretation of superman that everyone will hate in 10 years. The culture war is nothing but consumption and fighting over consumption, it doesn't really matter end of the day.
As a side note, remove all current or past politics but Superman has never been an immigrant *story*. All the beats that the central story follows are not an immigrant story. That's something like Scarface where it's a literal immigrant fresh off the boat trying to make a name for himself in a new land. Superman always arrives as a baby and is raised on earth (don't try to name me any Elseworlds crap that doesn't ever get adapted). Whenever they cover Supes' childhood, it's always a classic coming of age story. It's such a clear and obvious political angle at something contrary to basic bitch storytelling seen in the Superman mythos that it should be called out.
This is true but it's also true that someone who feels like an outsider will probably relate to Superman, an alien, growing up not understanding who he really is. It's such a basic blank slate story that you could apply almost fucking anything to it. People project what they wanna see and then make it about that. It's the same thing with X-Men, it's about race or it's about being gay or it's about being an immigrant. It's such a basic retarded metaphor that it could be
anything.
Like if I wanted to I could say Superman is actually a metaphor for menstruation. I mean think about it, he doesn't discover his powers until he's matured, he always has to wear a long flowing red cape, his secret identity gets in the way of his job at the daily planet, and he even spurts red energy at his enemies! Does that sound retarded? Course it does, but the idea is so simple you can apply nearly anything to it.
