Josh is weird because I don't like him, but he somehow always ends up being part of my favorite BoTW episodes. My favorites being Surviving Edged Weapons, Osteoporosis Dance (thank God he wasn't on the panel for that one), and Rem Lezar.

The Rem Lezar one really pisses me off because the ending becomes genuinely awkward when Josh becomes actually mad at Mike for not picking Rem Lezar as BoTW. Yes, Mike was retarded for not picking that, but Josh wouldn't even let him explain himself and just kept shouting him down.

Also, on Maculay Culkin's podcast (which I guess he stopped bothering to make.) Mike describes the Monkey Man piano incident to Mac, and the whole time Rich is laughing hysterically. I feel like that is a testament to their friendship more than anything.

Patreon Update:

After seeing some posts about the merch from our last store not holding up too well in the warsch, we started a new store with a place called Fourthwall. Jay said he read they do good work so here goes? They use the same brand Next Level shirts that we used when we sold our own screen-printed shirts so hopefully it all comes out well. More options here too. If you end up getting something post here on your quality review please and thank you!

Also additionally NEW video tomorrow and 2 more in the can and being edited! HOT DOG.

-Krebs Gorlon

The new video was the Possession Re:View by the way.

Also RLM got the Star Trek film reel back:

I'm currently reading Rinzler's books about the Making of Star Wars - New Hope was originally going to be Episode Six; One and Five were going to be a prelude and epilogue respectively, and Two to Four were going to be the Clone Wars trilogy.

Doesn't mean the entire thing was deeply planned out, or that each episode was written or mapped out, or anything else. Just that the Clone Wars were going to be more of a thing than they were.

(I've not got very far into the Empire book yet, so I don't know if the plan changes were explained)
Okay I've finished that book - the reason for the changes in numbering wasn't explained.

So I don't know if his plans for the Prequels had changed during the production of Empire.

Lucas' plans changed from minute to minute, so there is really nothing concrete about any of it. You can get somewhat of a glimpse of the shape, if you read some of the better extended stuff like the Heir to the Empire trilogy. The authors who had access to the Skywalker Ranch archives incorporated stuff from old notes and scripts.

Given how moneygrubby and eager to show off the makers and producers of Star Wars were, we should be grateful we even got a largely coherent and pleasant OT to begin with. There were clearly points where the tardwrangling didn't work even back during the making of the OT. (Star Wars Christmas Special, The Ewok Adventure movies, etc.)

Patreon Update:

When Josh Robert Thompson was in town, we shot two Best of the Worst episodes. We've finally been working on editing the second episode. Here's a preview of the three movies we watched! Coming soon!

JRT really is a top-tier guest. Does good impressions but doesn't overdo it, and is actually funny on his own.

Ranking: above The Canadians, below Freddie Williams

I didn’t know that Josh grew up making movies too, but that explains why he fits in so well.

He’s quickly becoming one of my favorite guests.

ETA: him getting the actor on the phone and it actually turning into a neat micro-interview just bumped him way up the list. He’s on par with Freddie for me.

My favorite part.

Overall a really good episode and I'm really liking the new guest myself as well, hopefully he'll show up some more.

It would be interesting if they were able to get ahold of some of the actors and other film critters (directors/writers/producers) from these old movies and do a little impromptu interviews and quasi commentaries on top of the BotW reviews. Seems like effort though.

What would have been a great april fools video would be Len Kabizinski and some other guests/directors of movies they've done all come in and do a BOTW episode examining RLM's films.
