This video makes me want to reread The Nitpicker's Guide to TNG. TIL he did two more books for TOS and DS9, I might pick those up, too.
I'd actually be a little surprised if Mike and Rich hadn't read it. It was a classic bathroom book in my household in the days before cell phones, and I know other trekkies who loved hearing about bloopers and mistakes etc.

Thank God. I was starting to run out of best of the worst.
I would actually recommend against watching the episode that dropped today if it's your first time, because the movie that they watched was so fucking awful the video is 25 minutes of them bitching about how bad it is. I'd start with a Segal movie, or maybe the video where they watch power through all of Neil Breen's movies in one sitting.

Mr Plinkett: "Commander Riker gets plenty of entertainment in the holodeck if you know what I mean."
Turns out that alternate timeline Lt. Picard is the guy who wipes down the loads.

As Mike gets older, his whole world of interest seems to be shrinking down to just Star Trek.

Hollywood committed suicide a few years after they stopped making those 20 years ago, so that's reasonable. It's a damn shame no one has ever thought to revive Star Trek. Bizarre really. What a drought!

So I caught Super (2010l on TV recently, a Kick-Ass clone by James Gunn before he started doing mainstream capeshit. Stars Rainn Wilson and Ellen Page.

I guess it was a very indie movie with a budget of 500k and a very limited theatrical release with a 2.5 million gross.

I didn't particularly like it. I found it disjointed and didn't find the narrative compelling. It also had a lot of random gore and escalations of violence.

I searched Reddit takes afterwards. It was pretty much universally NPC takes crowing " This is what Kick-Ass should've been!" and "Best Elliot Page performance eVeR!".

Saw a comment that RLM had covered it. Title says this was Half In the Bag Episode 7. Uploaded in 2015. Unsure if this was contemporary to 2015 or a later reupload.

Was pretty disappointed by RLM's superficial review.

Jay essentially has nothing to say except that he loves every aspect. Mike's take is that he found Ellen Page annoying, which I concur.

Edit: Got it backwards. Budget was 2.5 mil, box office was 600k.

Edit2: typo

ive seen both super and kick ass. i dont really remember anything about either one of them except for being disappointed by them. just another case of not being in 100% agreement with RLm on movie/tv takes. which is fine, i dont have to always agree with them to enjoy their stuff.

I suppose there's some truth to this. I probably would've liked the old episode more if they'd been more savage.

I believe I was more disappointed TBH that there was nothing particularly insightful in their review.

I was really looking for someone to explain to me what I just watched because it left me confused. Either explaining to me why the experimental nature flopped or someone convincing me how I was missing some subtle artistic genius.

RLM initially hosted videos on their site (excluding the first couple of Mr Plinkett Star Trek reviews in 2008-2009) or were under TheMachima brand on Youtube for their earliest Half in the Bad episodes in 2011 and the first half of 2012. When that deal for those older videos expired, they reuploaded them onto their Youtube channel by 2015. Crazy how appearance wise,Mike use to be thin and well groomed and Jay looked really unkempt. Now, those roles slowly reversed over the past decade, except Mike also has gotten fat as well because he really is morphing into Mr. Plinkett.

Mike always had big ol' sausage fingers. That's a sign of a guy who was doomed to get fat eventually.

They were on Blip, which was the style at the time. (Better monetiziation, longer videos, less issues with using copyright content). Blip shut down in 2015, hence the reupload to YouTube at that time.

I honestly can't remember much about Blip, i guess that goes without saying how brief it was since they started dumping everything on Youtube by the fall of 2012.

I miss blip. SfDebris, RLM, yes even the channel awesome shows - it was a great host back in the day.

It was always fun going to their website, then clicking on videos and hey! they uploaded one since yesterday. Just a more natural type of environment, and this was in '10-11, before people could even be considered youtubers. I even remember when Blip was doing that "we will block the video for 120 seconds or you can turn off adblock and watch a 30 second ad" and of course I wouldn't turn off adblock just as a fuck you.

I wish they would do more commentaries.
