I personally found it to be painfully boring and meandering, while that Nick Cage rip off movie was at least fun and at least things happened. Side note but while obviously they wouldnt know anything about the game lore, it was really disappointing that movie chose to be so safe and have none of the weird stuff that is actually in the games.

What weird stuff does happen in the games? Its just PNG jumpscares. The fact that they wrestled a plot out of that is a miracle to begin with.

The first game had a hidden backstory where 5 kids went missing and their bodies were stuffed into the animatronics. Starting with the third game a narrative about a child killer who was killed in one of his suits possesses his own body after being discovered in a boarded up room for 30 years trying to murder his own son (Who had accidently killed his own brother by sticking the brothers head into an animatronic who crushed his skull in it's jaws), which came after his sister (Who was also accidently murdered by being alone with one of her fathers "special kidnapping" animatronics and went on to possess it) scooped out his insides so she and 3 other animatronics could inhabit his body to escape the underground complex they were locked up in. After his body rotted and turned purple, the group vomited themselves out of the sons body who somehow managed to survive it, though he rotted and turned purple. After ALL of that, the son bought a pizzeria franchise that ended up being a trap for all the animatronics by the murdering fathers partner (who wasn't mentioned until the book series named him and was retroactively added into a spinoff game) to free all the souls of the trapped kids by incinerating them. Then finally you play as the murdering father who is trapped in hell and tortured for all eternity by being murdered by the same animatronics that he built in the first place.

That's not even including Help Wanted, Security Breach/Ruin and the upcoming Help Wanted 2.

I've watched oneyplays videos of it, don't get what the draw is from seeing the gameplay. Is it really just streamers doing faces and degenerates making porn that gives it mass appeal? I just watched Willy's Wonderland because they said it was shit but I like Nic Cage regardless, and had a good time with it.

I'm confused, was the son alive or in an animatronic? How did he survive having his organs torn out?

That son is/was alive. (He chose to burn in the trap with the rest of his family at the end of pizzeria simulator) As to how he lived past after having his insides scooped out... That's kind of left up in the air, though the books introduced a substance called Remnant, which is basically soul juice created when someone has a traumatic death while having intense emotion. Some speculate that like his father before him, he just started haunting his own body.

The story of these games went from spooky to tragic to dumb and I'm a retard who likes watching garbage fires burn so I know way to much of it.
