I don't think they're California style lefties. I think they've just gotten old and comfortable and are no longer interested in making waves. That means parroting the party line on things like Sound of Freedom.

Or they just don't give a shit and didn't bother looking into the matter any more deeply than online screeching.

Dear God, they've become ... normies.
That's pretty much it. They've gotten complacent and are becoming curmudgeons. For a movie review show they don't seem intellectually interested in a lot of the film industry. Even something that they support like the writer's strike is so uninteresting they can't even properly explain it. Likewise an independent movie that has a better box office that Indiana fucking Jones is uninteresting to them but they've heard the Qanon talking point and repeat it (despite it being made long before Qanon was even a thing.) A movie which people believe in so much that they payed for tickets in advance so people could see it for free via their website and saboteurs are writing literal scripts to claim tickets that will never be used. No thank you say the film reviewers from Milwaukee.

Like it's fine to go in blind for Wheel of the Worst, that's the entire point. But shouldn't their main show have some more effort put into it? You can't tell Rich to do some research the day before for an hour so in case they have questions he can give them further context? It surely couldn't be that hard.

They lost their touch with the Last Plinkett Review with TLJ. Ever since they've been old men occasionally bitching about pop media. You'll never ever see them again do Plinkett style reviews of the prequels and TNG series, and I liked most of those movies. They're on coast phase now and in safe mode. It's easy to bash an 80s tit flick action movie. The last one I think they really came down hard on was Man of Steel. That's 10 years ago.

I thought their Into Darkness review was good, but yeah, TRoS absolutely deserves a Plinkett review because it barely even qualifies as a movie by definition. The definition being moving pictures played in sequence with sound effects. It would also be a lengthy admission that RLM was dead wrong about JJ Abrams. Mike made a small mea culpa, but it's clear he was trying to avoid blame, not admit blame. The most significant impact the old Prequel reviews had on TFA was "don't talk about politics," which lead to absolutely no world building. JJ would have had that scene of Leia talking about the First Order otherwise, but Simon Pegg told him to watch the Plinkett reviews. So, combined with pacing purposes, this scene is removed.

That the TRoS review hasn't been made is proof they stopped caring a while ago because their reviews are an incomplete set.

Aids Moby and Beardfat twitter posts for others that may enjoy hate-reading them:
Aids Moby is claiming to have been sober for "4 year" and says that "this was a pretty good year", despite us not even being close to the end yet(?):

Beardfat is determined to make himself even fatter and more repulsive for his next appearance:

What have the Red Letter Media fags done to address their white privilege? What is the ethnic breakdown of staff and guests on their videos, again?
Imagine being a fat, worthless sack of shit, too myopic to be able to comprehend that maybe there are white people out there who don't have the privilege to live life as a pathetic, gluttonous manchild whose only concerns are consuming pop media and virtue-signalling on twitter.

Speaking of virtue-signalling:

Don't be too hard on Beardfat. The "urban market" stole his TV.

OMG, Lagunitas regular beer makes me puke, I can't imagine how bad a NA one is. Well, good for him on that IF true. These guys are getting to the age where if they keep heavy drinking it's going to get really physically damaging.

i mean i cant blame him for not liking strange new worlds. i know some of you guys say it is great, but i cant see that. ive seen the trailer and i dont see great old trek in it, just new trek that just isnt as awful as picard.
The trailers for it suck. Granted I've only watched the first season, and stayed away from STD and Picard, but I think it strikes a decent balance between new and old trek. I think diehards like Mike dont like Pike and Spock being there for autistic nerd reasons.

(late) But that’s actually pretty disappointing they came out on that side of the commentary about Sound of Freedom. I don’t know why that movie made so many people get weird, and try to make being anti-child trafficking = muh Nazis.
Even if you hate the actor for qanon, why are the attacks leveraged at the movie/topic, but the excuse is him? Weird.

And Josh, lol. I would say blink if you need rescuing from the cult, but I’d rather you stay there til your chins consumes you.

If another Barney movie ever gets made, it will make Lee Goldson (Barneyfag) blush. Should we ping him?
Actually Barney is not a Mattel thing, though that idea sounds too much like Death To Smoochy to me from what I am getting from it. But hey, at least RLM were close on the joke just different company.

Sorry for double posting but, I think they only said it, because they are centrists, not like Aids Moby or Beardfat. Also three videos in a row and no sign of the Best Of The Worst Spotlight.

But they're technically owned by Mattel. And if they're still going for a satirical route like Death to Smoochy, then it would sound interesting. Still, I want Lee Goldson to make a cameo

After forgetting where it was and having to re-watch Plinketts Star Trek reviews to find it for the third time, I ended up just cutting this out for my own use but thought I'd post it here too for posterity.

(6:27 in part 3 of the first contact review btw)

Great, I fuck off for a week or so and all the interesting topics fly by.

I don't like Nolan, so I'm not watching Oppenheimer and can't comment on their comment. I love MST3K, both Joel and Mike are great, but that llama sketch is forever my instant laugh. Just typing this makes me chuckle. The kickstarted season gave me the creeps, but the one after the mellowed out with the youtube style references and was OK.

Mike never struck me as centre right, but what do I know. They mostly seem to have developed a live and let live attitude over the years. Sure, in his earlier days Mike harped on the dumb audience a lot, but I found him quite mellow too.
