They need those segments to have something to be better than.

This is a group of middle aged men who spent their entire lives watching movies and that's it. Their personality is that they like movies. Jay's personality is that he likes "weird movies" but also gets offended by rape scenes in trashy b-movies and forgets the people in them are actors.

Mike is so fat he hasn't seen his own dick in 5 years, Jay is a 45 year old virgin, Rich is a meth-baby who married a woman that looks like they're his twin-brother, Josh is literally fat and gay, and Jack is a dipshit.

The only one of them living a respectable life is Tim. And even he's bald.

This is why they need to highlight shitty user-reviews, it's why in their one Ghostbusters review they had to spend a few minutes talking about how pathetic it is that people's entire personality is ghostbusters, something that isn't anyone's 'entire personality' but makes a good straw-man for them to separate themselves from.

They had a picture pop-up of some random guys dressed like ghostbusters, now you can find pictures of both Mike and Jay dressed as ghostbusters but they didn't use a self-deprecating picture of themselves because the entire point was to try to put themselves up on a pedestal. This desperate need to be above other people who are just like them is also why Jay always mentions how he liked Luke's character in the last jedi. It's to draw a clear line in the sand between them and the mouth breathing masses.

Nevermind that Luke's primary defining character trait was his belief in the good in people, that he thought Vader (a genocidal maniac who's an accomplice to blowing up entire planets and killing billions) still had good in him and the idea of him standing over his nephews bed with a knife is retarded as fuck. If I'm standing over my nieces bed with a knife in the middle of the night I don't think saying the 'thought passed over me like a shadow' is gonna get me invited back to family Thanksgivings.

They need the shitty user reviews written by 12-year-olds or it will force them to face the realization that they are the mouth-breathing masses stuffing popcorn into their faces.

I agree. it feels like they are starting to run out of steam. All the most recent HiTB's feel like they just drag on to the point I've stopped watching them or start them then just close the video half way through because its become so boring.

Also just me? or are the jokes non-existent at this point? because Mikes bad jokes were one of the reasons to keep watching even if it was a boring HiTB, and the old ones are absolutely chock full of them. Now it just feels like watching two middle aged men droning on pointlessly.

i turned off the last couple half way through and had to come back later to finish them. they just cant hold my attention for even 30 minutes because of how dull they have become.

Now it just feels like watching two middle aged men droning on pointlessly.

I agree with your post, but there absolutely are people like this in the world. There's a group around me that used to go to bars dressed up in their full Ghostbusters get up (jumpsuits, patches, the ghostbusting backpacks, etc.) and tried to get into every parade they could.

I dunno, I found the old people can't handle technology skits funny. They're 1:1 with what I go through when I visit my grandparents. From the huge fuckoff tv they forgot how to use after having no problems for months to keeping illegible handwritten passwords in notebooks, where they don't know which one is for what.

Makes me go "hey I know this!!" and clap my hands in glee
 
So who's gonna break into the RLM studio and steal the pictures? I'm sure autists have already put together a floor plan/overhead layout diagram using the videos as reference. All they need is to figure out the crew's schedules, which they can do by monitoring the building over several weeks. If there is a keypad lock they can use binoculars to watch them entering the code. It should be a piece of cake.
