They mentioned some of his credits in his first appearance, and asked him to explain some of the working process of video effects when talking about the Incredible Bulk, but outside of that: no. I don't remember them really talking about Jim's work either, maybe in a commentary. Colin made a joke about not knowing what "Vikings" was to Jim one time (Jim won an emmy for his work on that show)
They both did worked for Soho VFX on The Incredible Hulk (2008). It's maybe where they first met.

Colin is god tier. Jim is a mixed bag. He can get decent jokes off but he suffers from the same issue as Josh in that his energy sucks. It's like a void. Mike is already in the misanthrope slot, Jim seems genuinely tired and miserable. Freddie and Len are both very similar level excellent guests. Their best guests always end up people just like them who work in the industry behind the scenes to some degree. BOTW would be awful if all they did is react or give surface level criticism. But because they have experience filming, writing, editing, etc, they hit on things not everyone does. An actor usually doesn't end up with the same knowledge base to point out shitty lighting or "shooting the rodeo" stuff.

Their (Jim and Mike) Star Trek TMP review was pretty good though. It was a pairing you don't see often.

I had this DVD I got for 25 cents that I was going to send to RLM for the Wheel. It was a cheapo martial arts training video with some white dude in samurai armor and it looked silly. But I actually skimmed though it recently and it wasn't that funny. It appeared to be legit martial arts instruction.

Then I was thinking about Ashida Kim. If you don't know who he is, there are some videos on YouTube that explain that. TL;DR: wannabe ninja fraud that hawked books and videos.
I was wondering if anyone had any of Ashida Kim's videos and would send them to RLM?
Here's one of the videos in question: (Looks like it's been slightly edited for comedy purposes in places.)

Personally didn't find Jack that funny, but at least he didn't subtract anything from the episode. We got the core 3 plus him. Take him or leave him I guess. Would I watch the episode again? Probably not. The movies themselves were boring as well, Stone Cold can only hold the episode up so much.

And no, it's not a case of "muh parasocial relationship" because I have 0 desire to ever meet them or be on the show. I'm sure that's the case for some fans who automatically whinge about celebrity guests but that's not my angle. And I think it's reductive to label everyone with guest criticism as having that issue.

Take a shot every time Jack says "like you know", when he says "we" when making a point about something that happened during the viewing like "we were just saying" or "we we all like", or when he points out something someone else said during the viewing vs letting that person make their own comment. He didn't really have any great jokes or points. He's just pointing out things that happened most of the time and saying something along the lines of "that's nuts". He also has a weird put on voice in a similar way that Mac does. It's not terrible or unwatchable by any means but it's not one of the greatest episodes ever either.

Idk I think people who are fans of RLM then go on the show, RE: Max Landis, Mac, and Jack, still retain too much of their excitement and fanboyism. Say what you want about the Patton Oswalt episode but he brought a different energy as someone you can tell has probably never watched an episode of BOTW. We know Mac went on the show because he was making the youtube relevancy rounds at the time and ended up hitting it off and coming back, but I wondered what Jack's angle might be. I checked RLM twitter and saw some minor comments and likes between the two but nothing crazy. I wonder if Mike is just interested in cozying up to someone who could introduce him to more voice acting roles. Maybe they genuinely love him in The Boys. Who knows.

Celeb guest tier list:

Mac (minus handler) > Jack > Patton >>>>>>> Max Landis
Jesus fucking christ, it's not this deep. The fact you put this much effort into saying this, is why RedLetterMedia fans are worse than fucking Redditors, at times. If it's not that bad, then don't go into a text wall of autism over it.

Looks like a Len episode to me.

Pretty shocking that people would want to post about the subject of a thread in said thread. And it's not a "wall of text" it's like several short paragraphs.

General consensus seems to be Jack is fantastic. The sub is full of people falling over themselves to hail Jack as best addition to the panel in a long time, saying he's fucking hilarious. I happen to disagree. If you disagree at all over on the sub you get downvoted to hell because reddit is a hivemind, so I don't bother. I gave a pretty autism free breakdown of my issues with Jack. If it's not that deep why sperg about my apparent sperging in the first place?

I thought he was fine. They could have done a lot worse.
If anything I hope this sets up for him doing a gag on the half in the bag episode for his movie.

Say what you will, I thought it was interesting when they did that Frankenstein movie and Max Landis had sent them a copy of the script. The compare/contrast was fascinating.

I’m legitimately worried for Mike and Rich Evan’s sanity after today’s Picard episode.

The Borg are going to be good now and only assimilate people who are “lost or need help” and only if they want it. Also they’re going to stay in the past to create a better collective.

Jurati made the Borg a cult, essentially. And it’s treated as a good thing.
You're shitting me.
