Is Jack Quaid replacing Mike Stoklasa? He may have to,

+1 to the Macaulay episodes being surprisingly watchable. I get the aversion to having some obnoxious d-lister on +1 to avoiding the Patton Oswalt episode but Mac slotted in fairly well.

I find it funny that even though this Jack was in the animated Star Trek show, that they managed to get someone from one of Paramount's Star Trek shows, that's pretty surprising.

I really don’t understand the MC hate. I thought the episodes he was in were great.

Only two I haven’t watched was Landis(because y’know) and Patton Oswald(because I kinda hate the guy).

Personally I found him a bit of a 'try-hard' and his jokey shtick always felt forced and awkward to me.
But, the fact that he brought a friend/wrangler to watch 'Roar' with the crew and that retard proceeded to ruin the episode by having a panic attack watching the film is enough reason for me to be happy that MC been cast into the wilderness. Roar is a movie so bonkers, and story behind the making of that vanity project is so bizarre, that it was tailor made to deliver a classic BOTW episode. Instead Mac contributed to making that episode unwatchable, so fuck Mac.

Roar probably should have been a Re:View, to be honest. They even brought Josh just to talk about that one movie in that episode and he's way better in Re:View than BOTW.

They've asked him at least once since he last went on, he replied to a comment I put on one of his videos a year or two ago. Len is just busy with his own stuff/Low Blow man.

That would make sense. I remember coming across the post that had said Leo died. So that might be why he hasn't been too involved lately.

I am watching the new BOTW, and it's so weird that Jack Quaid has better chemistry with Mike, Rich, and Jay compared to the Jack that they already have.

I hope Mike gets his script greenlit.

Personally didn't find Jack that funny, but at least he didn't subtract anything from the episode. We got the core 3 plus him. Take him or leave him I guess. Would I watch the episode again? Probably not. The movies themselves were boring as well, Stone Cold can only hold the episode up so much.

And no, it's not a case of "muh parasocial relationship" because I have 0 desire to ever meet them or be on the show. I'm sure that's the case for some fans who automatically whinge about celebrity guests but that's not my angle. And I think it's reductive to label everyone with guest criticism as having that issue.

Take a shot every time Jack says "like you know", when he says "we" when making a point about something that happened during the viewing like "we were just saying" or "we we all like", or when he points out something someone else said during the viewing vs letting that person make their own comment. He didn't really have any great jokes or points. He's just pointing out things that happened most of the time and saying something along the lines of "that's nuts". He also has a weird put on voice in a similar way that Mac does. It's not terrible or unwatchable by any means but it's not one of the greatest episodes ever either.

Idk I think people who are fans of RLM then go on the show, RE: Max Landis, Mac, and Jack, still retain too much of their excitement and fanboyism. Say what you want about the Patton Oswalt episode but he brought a different energy as someone you can tell has probably never watched an episode of BOTW. We know Mac went on the show because he was making the youtube relevancy rounds at the time and ended up hitting it off and coming back, but I wondered what Jack's angle might be. I checked RLM twitter and saw some minor comments and likes between the two but nothing crazy. I wonder if Mike is just interested in cozying up to someone who could introduce him to more voice acting roles. Maybe they genuinely love him in The Boys. Who knows.

Celeb guest tier list:

Mac (minus handler) > Jack > Patton >>>>>>> Max Landis
