Mikes finally lost it and became a Riddler cosplayer, and Rich Evans has looped back from the event horizon to turn into a normal looking human being.
Picard is great at everything except being a Star Trek show

I can't believe they unironically like the Borg queen.
Maybe it’s one of those “there’s this one little bit that’s not completely and utterly covered in shit, and I’m going to savor it” kinda things.

It's the one thing they didn't make worse? Kind of?

Rich's "I-C-E" was a scripted bit, wasn't it? The fans noticed he hasn't been acting like a buffoonish clown lately and they've been getting complaints. "The show has changed too much! What are you trying to do, pull a Picard?" So they had him say something dumb. They even put him in a vest three sizes too big so he doesn't look so skinny.

Not really. This queen doesn't behave like the one from Voyager or First Contact. Sure, she doesn't make quips (yet) but she's turning into Scorpius/Harvey from Farscape.
Also when Mike was asking why she didn't use the policeman's lower body to escape the ship, I was thinking: "Why didn't she turn dead Legolas into a borg drone?" The guy is still in the ship's morgue. This is no doubt the first time that a Borg doesn't try to create more Borg drones.
Another thing about the ICE discussion, they didn't notice that the ICE agents have "POLICE - ICE" on their vest, which goes against what was established earlier in the episode by that random non-threatening black man (the police and ICE don't work together).

Holy shit. I don't watch the Picard show but the opening minutes of clips of ICE and Skid Row is hilarious. It's such an elitist Hollywood mindset and lens.

"Oh woe, my toilet cleaner I pay $8/hr was deported last week and the homeless crack addict outside my office was arrested for eating a prostitute's face, #JusticeForJayquann!"

It'd be fine if it wasn't just a worse version of 95% of Hollywood productions these days. It's been done. It's been done better! It's been done better before with an actual message than "life shit". Maybe if you think these are problems you can take some inspiration from the brand you've co-opted and have an episode discussing the issue with different views and solutions instead of just showing it, commenting on how it's bad, and then moving on, repeat ad nauseam.

I doubt it's scripted. Mike likes to fuck with Rich all the time, I think it just didn't stick as a joke for anyone but him (no Jay to sift through clips and rip it out either).

A staple of Star Trek is the ship comes across some new planet but the surface is all fucked up. What they could have done in this show was say "Hey wow the surface of Earth is all fucked up, see this bad CGI render in our viewscreen? This is due to pollution and climate change! Hey let's scan the transmissions from the planet so we can see what's going on. Oh no there's commercials about reporting immigrants and how we shouldn't let brown people spread to the stars! This will jeopardize our non-racist future! We must beam down and figure out what's going on!"

Like, incorporate the fact that you're a SPACE SHOW and you can "take readings" from SPACE. They shouldn't be figuring out the problem on the surface, they should be looking for the solution on the surface.

Also, would they have the term "Hispanic" in the future? It seems like racial labels wouldn't be a thing in Star Trek. If anything the character should be called hispanic by a modern person and they go "what's that? oh yeah human societies used to have different names for people of different backgrounds".

Watching this re:View and seeing the old Star Trek clips is night and day. Old Star Trek is bright and colorful, the scenes are fully lighted, the uniforms are bright and stand out, and even scenes that take place in dark rooms you can make out what is going on. Picard, even when set outside in the daytime has this dimmed look to it that makes it look dreary even when the sun is shining and there are so many scenes that are so dark you can barley make anything out. No wonder Rich looks so depressed in these videos.

When will they just have thumbnails of them slitting each other's wrists for this series?
Suicide opening when?

Mike: Rich what are you doing?

Rich: I'm going to hang myself. I can't do it anymore. I can't take another episode of Picard
* ties rope around his neck and jumps off the chair. Lands on his face and a 2x4 falls on top of him*
FUCK!!!!

Warning NSFL: includes close-ups of Wil Wheaton's face.
You think Patrick Stewart had it in his contract that the only way Will Wheaton could interview him would be via video call and separated by two continents and an ocean?

But then how will viewers understand what you're trying to tell them if you don't spell it out for them? You need to bash them over the head repeatedly and have the characters turn and face the camera to tell everyone that ICE is bad. No don't come up with a solution to the problem or talk about all the issues surrounding illegal immigration, just have your actor dressed in modern clothes on modern Earth tell everyone what to think. Allegory and metaphor? What are those?

Everyone knows if you have anything meaningful to say it can't be colourful, it has to be dead serious where every single scene is oozing with life or death choices.

TOS is bad because it's not serious and is a kid's show, Nu Trek is good because it's super-dooper serious and everyone smokes crack.

Is it me or are the writers suggesting that ICE put the illegals on a bus only to kill them somewhere?

Stewart is old and since he's a good leftist he is probably scared of COVID.
