A Sam Raimi ranking video should be great. They really need to do more of those kind of reviews for re:view. Carpenter's was fun, friday the 13th was fun (as was the quiz episode), Joe Dante's was interesting.

I'm surprised they still haven't done one for Lynch, who died almost exactly a year ago. I think they even had a bunch of his movies on the table in one of the BOTWs.

Gene Roddenberry was an antisemite according to Leonard Nimoy and some others. So it is very possible it was intentional.
Antisemitic because you're a chud: broke

Antisemitic because you are pro-Palestine: woke

Antisemitic because you don't want to share the money with them: bespoke

The irony is the ferengi might be the second most loved Star Trek alien race behind the Klingons. The Ferengi culture might be more flushed out than even the vulcan. The Ferengi not being a stand in for Jews is less believable than James Gunn saying his Superman movie isn’t about Gaza. It’s about Russia invading Ukraine populated by Muslim middle easterners.

I think it would be a good Jay/Rich episode for just that reason. Get the perspective for a massive fan and a regular joe. I get the feeling that The Straight Story would be Rich Evans' favorite of the lot.

Elephant Man is the Lynch movie the normies love. It deserves the love, too.

They talked about it i think on the Joe Dante re;view that a David Lynch ranking video wouldn't work because they would rate all of them 10/10s and wouldn't want to rate which is the lesser or something like that. But why keep the whole top ranking shtick, just throw that away and talk about the movies anyway.

They're wasting time on boring star drek with ds9, this is a few months wasted, Their 2nd one was 'better' I guess but who cares. They could be doing Lynch for 'good' Reviews or Academy for shit.

They sometimes do current shit and sometimes not. Not great that they've totally wasted a few months on DS9 before they're off the the hospices,

What a bunch of kiss asses. Dune is a 10/10? C'mon.

Lynch's Dune is pure kino but if you want something closer to the book find the Sci Fi channel mini-series from ~2000. They were trying to be a serious network so they spent a lot of money on it. This is also why they made Farscape around that time.

Dune is essentially unfilmable. It has absurd amounts of backstory and history built into the setting nearly on the level of Lord of the Rings, except it also spends ludicrous amounts of time in different characters' thoughts every chapter (a practice referred to as "head-hopping" and considered a mortal sin in modern genre fiction). If you're going to make a movie out of it, you have to at least try to do something interesting with the material. I think Lynch succeeded at that, even if it's not strictly comprehensible.

I don't know why they did a season 1 review instead of favorite top 10.

Yep, do a top 10 DS9, a top/bottom 10 of VOY. Ent has nothing really to discuss. It's really weird if they do every DS9 season fully per an hour ReView like this, but they've done 2 so I guess they'll waste time/effort on it.
