They have been rubbing elbows with more people in the industry and they are pretty much turning into that prick with the red background.

They could have made a review laughing at Megaflopolis but that would have been funny.

Theaters would probably lose money by doing this too.

Movie theaters make a lot of their money from the food and drinks ... Why would they provide something that discourages people from buying more stuff?

Dumb. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Incredibly entitled, too. The RLM guys should just wait to review movies when they're on streaming at this point. Then they can sit in total silence and force whatever families they may have to not dare to eat a snack or sip on a drink while watching a movie.
Theatres these days ONLY make money off concessions, reserved seating and premium auditorium markups, due to movies leaving theatres so quickly these days. It used to take 8 weeks before the majority of ticket sales went to the theatre rather than the studio, and a lot of movies don't last a month on screen anymore.

Yeah like the RLM guys, if they want the theater experience should just go on times that aren't as populated.

Otherwise unless theaters invent like custom headphones per seat that allows you to hear the movie with no other sounds, they'd have to deal with it.

Mike just seems to have devolved into a miserable, snobbish old bitch boy in the last year or so.

Getting mad at people talking throughout the movie, messing around on their phones thoughout the movie, etc ... Completely reasonable complaint.

But this tangent about how they get annoyed with "Neanderthals" who have the gall to eat popcorn or drink a beverage during a movie ... lol. Absolutely ridiculous and entitled AF.

They need to get the poles out of their asses.

But they kept CHEWING during the QUIET scenes!

Yeah they act like someone brought a baby to see Nosferatu (which could happen as I have had theater experiences where irresponsible parents brought babies to horror movies).

At some point, Mike and Jay should maybe just sit far away from others if its enough of a problem, the noise wouldn't be as loud too.

Hey, I took my daughter to see End of Days when she was a week old, and she slept through the whole thing!

they aren't just alchy losers, the top 3 are talented guys. They come and go on quality for sure but not many can last this long at all.

I agree, to a point: Mike and Jay have talent as editors, and Rich is grounded in extremely practical skills which contribute to the production quality of their videos - But none of that necessarily translates to on-camera talent.

Despite having been a fan since 2010 or so, it was clear from the start that their claim to fame would be midwit-bait "criticisms" qualified with sardonicism, alone. They're friend simulators first, "film critics" second, and filmmakers third. And I don't feel the talent there necessarily translates to all three: Though I'm an easy mark for the charm of bad films, Mike and Jay's films are plainly bad in ways so tedious that they wouldn't be able to get Best of the Worst footage out of reacting to their own movies.

Though they're borderline lolcows still coasting on the goodwill of Mike's Phantom Menace review, I still check out their stuff, and continue to wish them the best, despite knowing better than to expect it; due to having recognized from the beginning that they'll be their own undoing. It's also becoming a bit of a surprise each year that Rich continues to survive; as he always looks like he's under the effects of a gypsy's curse.

Patreon Update:

New Best of the Worst should be coming this weekend! It's a wheel episode, it's 90 minutes long, and it features a new guest. Urine for a good time!
Nonstop new guests, huh? This feels like they are scraping the bottom of the barrel and trying to gussy up their stale concepts with celebrity guests. I'm starting to get the same feeling I got before Super Best Friends Play broke apart.

Like SBFP, RedLetterMedia seems indifferent in their own videos. They are now trying the things they used to make fun of to get views. I'm guessing Mike is becoming resentful, bitter, or tired and either consciously or unconsciously tanking the channel to be done with it. I never got the impression Jay or Rich had larger creative control, so they are probably forced to go along with the new celeb-filled nihilism of the channel. The tone of the last 10 Half in the Bag's has been "Well movies all suck now. Why do we even do this still haha!"

I can still think of 20 movies they should do on Re:View, which is my favorite series by far. They need to cut out some of the old series and try something else, imo.

Mike gives off the vibe that he doesn't want to be doing any of it anymore in all the stuff from the past year and a half that I have watched. He even kills the fun in a lot of BOTWs lately.

Worth keeping in mind all of these guys are in shouting distance of turning 50. I can't see them continuing much past the big five-O, if they even make it that far. It'd be too depressing.

I'm 50, and if I could make a living fucking around on YouTube and watching movies with my friends, I sure as shit wouldn't be as miserable as Mike is these days, I'd be in heaven.

The problem with Gen X YouTubers is that they aren't satisfied with being YouTubers. GenZ would kill for their jobs. But Gen X desperately want mainstream recognition on the Old Media that they grew up on. I.e.: Television and theatrical movies. I think that's why they like rubbing shoulders with B-list Hollywood celebrities so much.

EDIT: Also, Mike may suffer from misophonia like I do. It's kind of like having a hangover 24/7.
