How the fuck do you play music for so long, and suck so fucking bad?
Sucking at the start and never changing it up. Practicing sounding like shit for 20 years doesn't instantly make you better it just makes you more proficient at sounding like shit. You end up in an even deeper rut of bad habits and a lack of creativity. Most people will realize they sound stale or bad and find new inspiration or techniques. But not Josh apparently.

You guys are possibly being a bit harsh (something I never thought I would say about beardfat). IF the band takes themselves seriously and think they are particularly talented then yeah, your criticisms stand. But for the most part they might just be a bunch of mates who share a hobby and do it recreationally. I know a group of friends like that, and they have a cringey music video too (that they made simply because they could). For them it's just mostly some fun and games, with some nostalgia of better (AKA younger) times thrown in, as well as a bit of an outlet for the creativity that their modern semi-corporate lives keep trying to stifle. Granted they've only kept it up half as long as the guys above, but it could well be similar situations.

just watch that fucking video,

they 100% think they are underappreciated underground hot shit

but they are just shit. dried up, obese shits with ill fitting fants and pre-diabetes.

I liked that song that Jessi's band did that Jack shot the clip for, so they're not all talentless.
It's still so weird to me to think about the fact that Jessi used to be in a pop punk band. And that Mike met her through Jack's time working on her music vids. I don't think her music was bad per say but it wasn't great either. But they probably knew that considering they had what, 5 songs before breaking up?

Considering that even the re-uploads of that Diamond Cobra video are gone from YT, they probably don't want to risk it.
That's too bad, glad I watched it when I could.

For anyone who doesn't want to waste their life watching any of those, here's a shot of (clockwise from upper left) Shelbyville Rich, Shelbyville Mike, Shelbyville Jack, and Shelbyville Jay.

Should tell you all you need to know.
What the fuck? What the absolute fuck? It's genuinely freaking me out how similar they are, to call them the "Shelbyville" versions of the RLM guys is eerily accurate.

Dammit, Josh. Couldn't reign it in and wear some nerdy movie reference?

Man, I didn't mind beard soy before but he is really starting to grate on me more and more recently. I wonder why they keep him around, is he a childhood friend that they feel sorry for or something? Obviously we only see him on video so he might be alright in person but honestly seems like an annoying faggot you wouldn't want to spend more than 5 minutes with.

Hes usually tolerable when its him and Jay talking about some niche thing they like

Yeh, he's not as bad on a one to one discussion but is still a spaz. Like in this episode Jay made an obvious joke about samurai in WW 2 and it just sailed over his head and he bulldozes in with a comment about how you didn't have samurai at that time.

He also seems to have a weird tick where if he says something he thinks is funny he breathes in and out quickly. Once you notice it you can't not hear it and it's really fucking annoying.

... I despise you for pointing this out.

I hadn't seen enough of Josh on camera to really sus out his politi sperging, I always thought he was just a standard, annoying nerd.
