I think there's some disconnect because DW1 at least is on the same level as more serious cinema. The disconnect of two very different grades in the same series throws some people off. (Imagine if Commando was like... a sequel to Full Metal Jacket.)

It's more like people bitching about Rambo sequels, really. Which makes them retards.

I trust you're all fast and furious saga fans too?

What the fuck is wrong with sitting down with a few friends, drink a few beer and watch mindless action, hot chicks, cars and explosions exactly? See what this guy said:

Those are the type of people who don't feel the urge to exclaim "Yay" when a movie uses an actual explosion/fireball. Zero fun.

Rambo is a good example. Yeah another film series with major tonal shifts. Or rocky! Comparing 1 and 4. Etc.

Nothing! It's useful to calibrate the context of the conversation.

Look I have nightmare weekend AND Tammy & the trex on bluray. I'm not saying I have good tastes. Just want to make sure we are all agreeing that it's good because it's dumb and over-the-top.

Rambo 2 is hilarious because Stallone buys into every myth about Vietnam. Rambo 3 is one of the biggest own-goals in cinematic history. (Even James Bond fought alongside the Mujahedeen in the 80's. They were "moderate rebels" at that point in time.)

Before the Reds invaded, those goat-fuckers were stonewalling things like education for women. No shit, that is one of the things that sparked the initial rebellion, and the USSR had to invade in order to prop up the pro-Soviet ruling party.

They made like over a hundred shitty movies in the 80s, if they are looking for the worst, Death Wish 3 it wasn't, even ironically.
It was a Christmas episode with the wrapped packages. Blame whoever on not picking the box with Breakin' 2.

Look here you pencil necked geek, Cannon did not make that many shitty films. Some of them are more than competent. And some are legit great. There will no be trashing of the Death Wish sequels and Texas Chainsaw Massacre part 2 here, buddy boy.

It could have been a situation where whomever put the film in to the pile to wrap thought it was bad last time they watched it, and since it's been years since they watched it, turns out young them didn't know shit about fun movies.

Cannon basically bought cheap scripts and made cheap schlock. It is a product of its time. Netflix is pretty much doing the same but instead of schlock, they go for low quality, woke, and established IPs. Maybe when we look back on the 2020s doughey e---lol no. Nobody's gonna think positively about the 2020s.

Death Wish 2 a.k.a. Death Wish 1 but this time the daughter dies

Death Wish 3 feels like they changed universes. First one was somewhat of a serious tale about a family man looking for revenge, getting a taste of blood and liking it. 3rd one he becomes guetto Terminator.

My 85 year old mom texted me a few months ago asking how she could watch some of the Death Wish movies. Unbeknownst to me, she was a big fan.

All this Cannon talk is reminding me that everyone should go watch Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films. Pretty entertaining documentary about the rise and downfall of the company.

I know there's another one out there that came out around the same time as the Electric Boogaloo one.
