So a week back I read something about RDR1's story being merged into a DLC expansion for RDR2... Would this even be likely of a thing? Considering Rockstar doesn't or at least very very rarely does invest in remasters or remakes.
That would be cool but I don't see it happening because rockstar would rather focus on online garbage.

fuck no

Taking an existing game and porting its entirety to the engine of its sequel so that it can be made into DLC sounds bonkers. I doubt even developers who exclusively develop single-player games and are generally well liked would do this, let alone the Jews at Rockstar who instantly forget about single-player the moment the Online version releases.

It would be a lot less work (and a lot more profitable) to simply port RDR1 to PS4/Xbox One, up the resolution from 720p to 1080p, up the FPS from 30 to 60 which Rockstar won't do because "MUH CINEMATIC EXPERIENCE", and then slap "REMASTERED" on the end of the title.

HITMAN 2 did it...

Yeah, but that's different. Hitman 1&2 were made with the same engine (AFAIK) and were made only 2 years apart from one another.

RDR2 was made 8 years after the original and wasn't even part of the same console generation.

Issue with a remaster would be the engine. The reason RDR1 never came to PC is because that build of RAGE could barely even handle PS3 and 360. It would probably be EASIER for them to remake it in RDR2's enginer just because they wouldn't have to deal with a buggy ass 8+ year old build of their current engine. Not saying it would even happen, but it'd probably be more expensive, but at the same time less grueling than the coding equivalent of searching for your wedding ring after dropping it in a pile of cow shit

TL;DR Pre-Max Payne 3 RAGE was a coding abomination and it's a miracle that GTA4's shitheap of a PC port even exists

So, I just finished the game.
Playing through the second epilogue makes the end of the first game even sadder for me, because I know that all the hard work I put in as John to build a home and make a life for his family comes crashing down in the end. That, and just finishing this game in general, makes me feel a bit empty inside.

Going back to MacFarlane's Ranch as it's temporarily vacant is quite jarring.

Not as jarring as seeing Armadillo being completely run-down and Tumbleweed being the main activity hub in New Austin.
But herbert moon being made immortal with bandages is an amazing callback to RDR1's respawning townsfolk

https://www.patreon.com/posts/22570692 Mark Brown is a pretentious asshat trying super hard to sound smart for preferring BOTW to RDR2.
I'm sure he's an excellent vid maker, but when he writes anything down in text form, he comes off as a pompous cockhead

I've never seen him as anything other than Extra Creditz Lite. He states a lot of obvious shit, but hasn't quite been as stupid as EC on some lines -- "running out of internet" comes to mind.

Maybe a less wrong EgoRaptor.

From this and the "walking sim" tweet gives me the impression that part of his dislike of the game is just him trying desperately to look unique. Especially with the BOTW comparisons, I get the vibe that if BOTW had a lot of the gameplay mechanics RDR2 had, he'd gobble it up and call it game of the generation

BoTW always seemed like a test run on Nintendo's part. Mostly to show off what the Switch is capable of, it's a fine game in its own right all the same but it still feels like it's a demonstration at times. RDR 2 feels like a full game throughout, even the cinematics don't bother me as much as God of War's did, mostly because the world is still alive around the characters - leading to funny stuff - and God of War is very much scripted in its entirety.

Honestly, he's just one of those douche contrarians you find in a lot of SJWs. Whether or not Mark Brown is one I don't know, I don't even really know who he is outside of the snippets I've seen, but he fits the same mold of "Heh, gamers..." type.

I'd say it was more of Wii U test drive/Wii U limit-pusher, since it was WiiU-exclusive for 70% of its development. I liked the hell out of BOTW, my issue more lies in the fact that they're comparing two radically different open world games in this case. One is all about you, alone in a world full of monsters, desperately trying to get back to the remnants of civilization, one is about an ensemble of criminals trying to steer clear of the law by hiding out in various parts of the American west/south, one mainly features old west gunslinging (which makes his complaint about the overabundance of gunning all the stupider), one is mainly hand to hand combat and arrows, the list goes on.

Are you telling me you didn't bother unlocking the double action revolver in Breath of the Wild? What a scrub.

Like I said, though, the guy is just being contrarian for views and to be a "good gamer". Plus he's probably a Nintendo-phile like MovieBob is.

Again, I think Brown is good at general game design analysis videos, but whenever he makes anything unscripted or strays away from his usual formula, his inner-sperg creeps out. Like this video and this gay article feel like they were written by completely different people.

TL;DR Mark Brown's videos can be decent when you seperate his videos from the somewhat dickish man who makes them.

Yeah, but it's obvious stuff and better said elsewhere -- basically a less wrong EgoRaptor. The article is probably a true measurement of his "genius".

So I finally finished the epilogue
And I’m super upset. I miss Arthur so bad. I’m going to let a friend borrow the game and sit in on them playing just to see him talk.

I did a side mission as John and they actually had John dub over all the lines despite it clearly being Arthur’s mannerisms and speech so they did all this work just to torture me. Is this what it’s like when people have waifus?
