I finally found three pristine rabbits and got perfect pelts. Now I gotta be a voyeur with some creatures with binoculars. That said, I'm not particularly happy that a legendary revolver didn't spawn on a guy when I killed him... really fires up my neuroses. That gotta have it all mentality. Some other bugs are annoying, such as when I'm tracking something and it pops out of existence. Otherwise it's a solid game and I'm enjoying myself.

What's funny was that Red Dead Redemption was able to get me hooked more than the Grand Theft Auto games. I can tell the GTA games were well done, but I could never stick around long enough to stay hooked. Red Dead Redemption was the exception to that rule.

This game will be amazing.
Red Dead Redemption was probably the game I played most on my ps3, so feel you there. Does anyone have some dumb stories from early in the game? I got tipped off on how to get a better handgun for free in the first town, but fucked up the robbery and spent the next several hours scrambling to get 250 dollars to pay off the bounty so I could actually use shops again. Why the fuck did I shoot all the deputies?

So, dominoes is a pretty fun minigame. Spent an hour playing it with that old con artist at the camp.

Oh, and Morgan likes to make sketches of locations and animals in his journal, that's a neat detail.

I've always loved how loose and sandbox'y GTA games feel, and from what I've seen and read about RDR2, it's just.. Way too cinematic? Like the opening to GTA V. Everything holds your hand and you never feel 'let loose'.

I really can't imagine the online part to be as popular or work as well with DLC and events as GTA 4. Guess depends how well the PC launch is done.

From what I hear, that's only the first few missions. From there you can explore to your heart's content. According to a guy on the RDR subreddit: "...once you set up camp for the first time that is it, you can explore the entire world if you want to ride off into the distance. The only thing you will have to deal with is your automatic bounty in Blackwater"

I guess you can't be a bad boy in the town if you want to use their facilities.

Out of almost 93 Gigabytes, only 13.5 is downloaded. I can't believe my internet is this slow. Gonna move to a better router later. Just hope it does it quickly!

According to the subplebbit, it takes about 2 hours to get full access to the map

Yeah, two hours is about how long it took me I believe. I'd say the opening is a little too hand-holdy, but it's not to the point of being unfun. I've only played a little since I got to the first town. I just want to throw out that the game looks really good, especially in first person.

People are calling RDR2 boring and badly controlled, is there weight to that, or are Gamefaqs forums and Metacritic user reviewers just being spergy?

If I had to be honest, wiping away the rose coloured clouds of my love for this game, rockstar may have tried to squeeze a few too many control systems onto a pad resulting in the odd spot of awkwardness. It's easy to get mixed up and, you know, punch your horse.

That's fine by me if it means the horse will kick you and constantly trample over you over and over.

Like the phrase "Beating a dead horse with a stick", but its opposite.

the controls are a little bit screwy, but outside of that it's a pretty fun and beautiful game

Yes it will kick you and as a horse owner myself I can tell you that the little sidelong kicks that the horses perform are 100% authentic and hurt just as much IRL as you'd expect them to. I'm really impressed with the horses overall. The way they move and behave is so real. Also they shit while they walk, which is a touch of realism.

You know what, I no longer give a shit. I'll play the game whenever the fuck I want. Who gives a shit what others think of it. I'm playing the game, not them. And if I love or hate the game, so be it.

I'm going to play it because where the fuck else am I going to get a kick ass immersive outlaw simulator with great graphics and 60+ hours of gameplay? Not playing this because "muh sjws" is dumb as fuck and a big part of why people mock Gamergate neckbeards.
