I'm going to play it because where the fuck else am I going to get a kick ass immersive outlaw simulator with great graphics and 60+ hours of gameplay? Not playing this because "muh sjws" is dumb as fuck and a big part of why people mock Gamergate neckbeards.
The "SJW mission" was clearly meant to be funny. And I was referring more to the complaints of slowness (which is subjective as fuck) and the "bad control scheme" (which is probably still 50 times better than the shit we dealt with back in GTA's 1-3 or Vice City)

Yes it will kick you and as a horse owner myself I can tell you that the little sidelong kicks that the horses perform are 100% authentic and hurt just as much IRL as you'd expect them to. I'm really impressed with the horses overall. The way they move and behave is so real. Also they shit while they walk, which is a touch of realism.

Horses have always impressed me in RDR, even in RDR1. I remember when I played The Witcher 3, I was so, so disappointed by the horse controls. Compared to RDR1, TW3 horse controls were incredibly clunky, and they just felt slow. Not to mention the fact you could basically never be unhorsed because of your own terrible handling. Run into a tree, doesn't matter. RDR2 is like the polar opposite, they feel so fluid and dangerous and somewhat unpredictable, getting spooked by snakes and coyotes and such.

It's pretty typical Rockstar stuff. They enjoy making fun of both sides, which I hope they continue to do for a very long time, anyone complaining about SJWism or celebrating it are fucking morons as far as I've seen.

Anything Arthur does is out of convenience and not an endorsement.

By their logic, John was both a Mexican government shill and a Mexican revolutionary at the same time. And he also helped out a white supremacist addicted to cocaine and a grave robbing necrophile.

I think a lot of the people who have issues with how RDR2 is portraying things and it's pacing are the kind of people who expected GTA V but Western, aka lowest common denominator humor, blunt force trauma social commentary, and absurd set piece chases and fights. Which is still fun mind you, but it is not what Red Dead should be. Instead, we got a homage to the classic spaghetti westerns.

Arthur works better than John as a character largely for one simple reason IMHO. Arthur is still an outlaw. Which means it doesn't cause severe suspension of disbelief issues if he decides "fuck it, im gonna cap this idiot" or decides to rob a bank or store on a whim during freeroam. Where instead it was really hard to square away John "seeking redemption" Marsten with all of the actions the average player would do with him outside of story missions.

Mafia 2 as it was supposed to be would be fantastic. I know that was set in 1940's, but they had all these activities and stuff planned that got cut from the final release.

Yeah I'd really love for Rockstar to do like, 'GTA: Liberty City 1930' and show 2K how it's done. If you like the setting though seek out an old PC game called Gangland, it's on GOG for like, $10.00. It's fuckin' ace.

Honestly, R* did the right thing by not killing off Jack Marston in the first game, since he'd be like in his 30s by the time the Roaring Twenties kicks in, we can have a game set around that timeline for Prohibition and Chicago Gangsters like I said earlier.

It would stray away from the Western theme but in a way it would be like R* answer to Sergio Leone and his filmography, ala Once Upon A Time In America.

They'd probably be worried about how a game like that could cannibalize LA Noire

Author has pink hair, lol.
They're complaining that AI don't act independently like Bethesda's or CDPR's. Even though Bethesda and CDPR usually try to encourage you to keep AIs alive for as long as possible for the sake of story, whereas RDR2 still shares a lot of GTA's DNA, meaning that R* probably coded their AIs with 100 casualty massacres in mind

It's pretty fun so far but god, it's making me want to buy a new tv to give it the justice it deserves.

I like Arthur a lot as a character since it's clear he has his own codes of morality but doesn't shy away from being an actual criminal. Like a noble thief kinda thing. Also helps that he's a handsome son of a bitch and I like dressing him up. :christine:

This game's Gamefaqs board is :autism: as fuck, many of them are honestly convinced that the game getting positive reception is a fucking conspiracy.

It's a videogame forum and you're surprised autism and bait threads are prevalent there? If this bothers you stay off off /v/ for your sake.

/v/'s at least somewhat self aware, a lot of these guys actually seem this stupid. Probably because anybody who "bullies" people on Gamefaqs will quickly get shit on by mods and have their post removed, meanwhile on /v/, if you say or do something exceptionally retarded, the userbase will publicly lynch your ass Saudi Arabia-style.

Update: Yeah, I was being pretty goddamn spergy.

There really is so much massiveness and immersiveness in this game I constantly need to put it down for a break every hour or so.

Video game horses and I have never been best friends and these aren't passing either. Apparently it seems possible for your horse to keel over and die on you. Yipes!

Motherfucking bounty hunter shot mine out from under me so I shot him and stole his. I liked that horse, it was expensive.

My warhorse, Archduke, decided to catapult himself off of a cliff. Both I and the horse died... That's 150 dollars gone.
