Well, at least there won't be a resurgence of Arthur Morgan sperging & dick sucking by rabid idiot fanboys. I guess that Rockstar would have inserted him into the game as often as possible trough flashbacks & mentions just to get people to buy the RDR1 remake.

Thank god that's not happening. Thank fucking god!
Honestly, as much as I would have loved for the game to be a remake that incorporated RDR2's lore, I have to agree that this would have almost certainly happened if it was, and that would've been fucking awful.

Yeah, That's Maggie aight, your main contact for moonshiner shit, kinda like her though.
Currently, I can see the Moonshiner role offered for 5 Gold to bypass the trader prerequisite. Is that a worthwhile investment? Also, thanks to dailies and bounty hunter, I'm close to earning my Gold back from purchasing the prestigious bounty hunter license.

Edit: I see that you have to buy a moonshiner shack for 25 Gold bars. Although, if I complete a 5 day daily streak, I can get 5 Gold bars off.

A straight port with no changes is infinitely better than current R* remaking it.

Also Red Dead on the Switch:

The RDR1 remake turning out to be a rerelease is a big let down. No getting to see RDR1 in the glory and beauty of the RDR2 engine. Not getting to visit John Abigail and Arthur's graves as Jack. It's a bit shit. That should happen. It should be a thing. But whatever. What a huge fucking let down. Rockstar never said it would be a remake or even a remaster. This is something the hype fags did on YouTube. OMG guyz itz totally going to be a remake!! No it isn't. It's a freaking rerelease.

The only positive about this is there will be a Switch port at least. If the port is good is another issue. From what I understand the developers Rockstar had working on the PS4 and Switch ports of RDR1 don't have a very good reputation either. So it's a wait and see type of thing. I already have a copy of the game for the PS3 from when I bought a used PS3 years ago. I also have the 360 version that was rereleased for the Xbox One when Microsoft added the game to it's backwards compatibility list. It says right on the front it plays on Xbox One and Xbox 360. I really don't need another copy of the game. But I will probably get the physical copy for Switch if the port isn't shit. That won't release till October.

Plenty of time to get it fixed up and running if it's a shit port. If they manage to do that. I will definitely be watching the Digital Foundry video on the Switch port. The Switch has been described as an overclocked 360 so hopefully the Switch port looks good and runs ok. Being able to play RDR1 or Undead Nightmare anywhere is the biggest selling point for the Switch version. especially since the version of Undead Nightmare that I played a few years back is bugged with the headless Zombie big which makes it pretty difficult to play the game. I would definitely be interested in playing Undead Nightmare.

But not getting a PC port really fucking hurts. The stories about the code being a huge mess seem 100% true. I would probably buy the PC port and copy for Switch, Again, if the ports are good.

I guess the lesson here is never expect too much with current day video games and developers. Just go in with more realistic expectations.
The lack of a PC port is what's hilarious to me. That's literally all people have been clamoring for, and they still decided not to make one.

That's fucking hysterical, and just leads me to believe the spaghetti code rumor is true.

As much as I genuinely hate to say this, I'm just glad it's not seventy dollars like most games are now.

Edit: Yeah, people ain't happy.

It's true. But this kind of backs it up. The lack of a PC port says it all. The code is shit and not worth fucking with to make a PC port.

Most games are $70 now from what I seen. Everything else cost more now. This probably would have been $40 years ago when Rockstar should have released it. But now it gets a $10 increase to $50.
It's the supporting cast. One thing I can say RDR2 definitely does better than RDR1 is having a memorable supporting cast who you actually care about.
The RDR2 Uncle is better. That's what's missing.
Unpopular opinion, but I did not like RDR: Undead Nightmare. Zombies turned into bullet sponges.
What I could play of it I enjoyed. But I was playing on the Xbox One and Rockstar released a patch years ago that caused a pretty bad bug in the 360 and ps3 versions. It's called the headless zombie bug. It makes the zombies headless so you can't kill them. You have to reset the game to clear it. But I heard if you save the game with the bug happening it will bug your save. No matter how many times you reset your game the bug will still be there.

They really don't give a shit anymore... LMAO :lit:

No remake with the RDR2 engine, not even a remaster.
I can't tell what's weird here, the fact that this is a 13 year old game being sold for 50$ instead of 20$ at best. Which doesn't have multiplayer, 60 FPS, not even a physical release till October. This, combined with Rockstar's history of their PC ports, doesn't help at all.

Or the fact that it's released on Switch (which is just funny but not as bad) & the PS4. Not even the PS5, but the PS4, PS5 has no games, it could've used one, albeit a 13 y/o one. But not on the one platform everyone wanted this on, which is PC, yet costs 50$. Mind you, if you have a good enough PC, you can emulate this game using Xenia (Xbox 360) or RPCS3 (PS4) emulators, probably even at 4K & 60fps, making it even more unnecessary to buy the game. Hell, this re-release makes it so that you can even emulate it on the Yuzu (Switch) now too.

Yeah sounds good to me, sure, you have to buy the shack itself but its still less costly than working up the trader role to that point

Either I'm tripping or I swear I can hear Double Clef FM opera music in Saint Denis.

I am steadily making my Gold back; it would be nice to use it for something substantial. As an aside, why pay 7-14 Gold bars for a couple emotes? All that grinding for a couple animations?

What a fucking farse R* has become.
I hope GTA6 turns out to be a massive piece of shit and it would be 3 for 3 of them shooting themselves in the ass like they did with the GTA DEs and this RDR piece of shit.

Agreed lol emotes are severely overpriced for what they are, although i do like that you have around three variations of each, (hold button down, tap repeatedly, tap once) but its mostly stuff that you buy when you cant think of anything else to get.

There's the revolver tricks too, but those i think you get almost for free as you climb up the bounty hunter role

RDR1 is built out of memorable supporting cast. The whole story is memorable supporting cast. The MacFarlanes, Marshall Johnson and his two deputies, HERBERT MOOOOOOOOOOOOON, Seth the grave robber, Nigel the snake oil salesman, the drunk Irish thief, the general and his gay subordinate, Landon the old gunslinger, Abraham Reyes, the crazy phrenologist and straight man Indian assistant, the two FBI agents.

The only part that lagged was the villains themselves.

RDR didn't have a good story, it just conned people into it because the characters were so fun nobody cared.

RDR2, on the other hand, I definitely liked interacting with people in camp, it felt real in a way I can't remember another game feeling, but I can't say as I actually feel attached to much of any of them or the side characters either.

I rebought a copy of RDR1 for my Xbox. I want to compare RDR1 with 2. There's something about 2 that is missing from 1.
Detail, graphics, the side activities that happen naturally instead of being RPG-like quests marked out on a map? RDR is 13 years old. It stylistically belongs to a completely different era of game, not just in the sense of not having the technical capabilities or budget but also the sensibilities about how you present things.

I have seen some people posting on YouTube videos that they could still release a remake but it won't happen this year. If it happens it happens and it doesn't it doesn't. I won't be getting caught up in anymore hype about it. I didn't even hear about the RDR1 rerelease till later in the day. If I decide to buy it the Switch port will definitely be the one I go with. That won't be released till October. I'm not giving Rockstar $100.
