If it makes you feel better, the latest previews seem to indicate that the SP has been given a ton of attention, to the point where Rockstar is having all of its development studios working on the game to ensure that it won't be a half baked experience..

This is where I'm standing as well. Even though I'm interpreting that a lot of the hype might be embellished marketing talk, given Rockstar's track record in single-player experiences unless they're straight up lying about the features and all, it will be an incredibly interesting experience. I'm especially excited when they said that "the game world world isn't centered around the player" and while I don't know exactly what that means in the grand scheme of things, it implies that they're trying to put focus on the game world and NPCs and the game world sort of "going on" without the player. Based on the other things they've said I think it implies something like development happening (houses being built etc) in the game world as the story progresses, NPCs going about their business and such and that sort of thing may not sound major but in action it might have a big impact on the atmosphere, at least for me personally.

The gang management aspect they've been teasing also sounds like something that will be engaging in the long run (some players may find it tedious to look after your gang, I think it will be another huge boost to the atmosphere). I'm glad they've taken their time with this game and even though I'm excited for the game I don't mind it being pushed back again if it means that they'll be able to deliver a completed experience (in terms of what they planned for the base game, I'm expecting there to be DLC of course)

Is there an actual reason why they decided to call it "Red Dead Redemption 2" despite the fact that the story takes place before the previous game? Well, a reason aside from, "Putting a two on the end makes it seem like a direct sequel and will make the game sell better than if we used a subtitle."

Edit: but really i'd like to know

Watching youtube videos of RDR makes me long for the days of shooting right by a horse's head and watching the animal tense up like a horse would and instantly shooting down the feet of the mule's you find in Mexico.

Then you go chill at the bar and drink and play cards. I'm more of a Blackjack guy than Poker.

I heard there were brothels, but I didn't find any. Perhaps because I dunno what 1910's hookers looked like. I know 20s Flappers though.

Which GTA was about a cowboy transported into modern day Mexico that has to juggle drug cartel loyalties in order to build a time machine and return to the past?

The answer is none. Try using your brain for once chicken fucker.
The Lost and Damned was pretty close.

John Marston's in it and no one knows Revolver exists other than hardcore fans.

So apparently not only will there be side missions hidden behind a paywall on release in RDD2, the $100 collector's edition won't even come with a copy of the game. Rockstar's reasoning is that they want to give their dear and respected customers the choice whether they want a digital copy or a psycical one. Too bad this means you have to purchase the game separately.

Simple - Get it physical from the Getgo.

In my case, though, I gotta download it since I live on an island in the Atlantic and have no Game Stops around, and any local who might sell the game marks it up 60%

I had an odd feeling Rockstar was going to pull something like this.

I don't see too much issue with the Collector's Edition not coming with the game because it's pricing seems to suggest it's not targeted for your average fan but rather the people who want them for their collections and to maybe re-sell it at a higher price onwards ? In the latter case not including the game would be a good thing because they can keep the whole thing in it's original packaging which can be somewhat important for collector's items. If you think the Collector's items are cheap garbage nowhere near justifying the price tag then that's a different thing entirely but including the game would just pointlessly hike up the price for people who might want to hunt for a more affordable deal on the game itself somewhere else.

The pre-order DLC is something I have a bit more of a bone to pick with. I'm only assuming that it will be available as DLC later on / included in a GOTY edition coming a year or so after the first release at which point I might end up re-purchasing the game. Otherwise it would be kinda scummy and even though it's not foreign to the industry to do this sort of thing, it's kinda disappointing when devs clearly chop out content to be sold separately later rather than using DLC as means to expand what's already there.

When is it coming out now? Now my bartender chohort just say they post posted it again

I get what you're saying but I think for the general audience, adding RDR and then a subtitle wouldn't get their attention or they might be too stupid to not catch on, it's kinda like what they did with GTA V where they added "Five" over the roman numeral, because that's how stupid RS thinks the average consumer is.

Wow, that trailer was beautiful. I really love the dynamic of you still being apart of the gang and you develop that gang.

Hope no one betrays me though. I will tie you up and drag you through the ground with a carriage
