Well, some shit about this release leaked. Namely that this version of the game was nearly 99% complete and was an entirely different game when compared to the shit fest that we got later. This version of the game was an open world experience with Duke cruising Vegas and doing missions.

So now the modding community wants this release of the game so they can complete it. But in comes Randy:

No idea when or if this release of the game will ever happen (officially). Some screens have leaked despite Randy trying to block it.

When the "a" is cut from "Teather", at least one ResetEra user claims that the game's enemies become far more mobile and challenging.

"Why is this line important?" Dickinson wrote. "There are two reasons : 1) AttachXenoToTeather doesn't do anything. It's basically empty or stripped 2) AttachPawnToTether does ALOT. It controls tactical position adjustment, patrolling and target zoning."

When a Xeno is spawned, it is attached to a zone tether," they continued. "This zone tells the Xeno what area is its fighting space and where different exits are. Colonial Marines was such a smash and grab that the notion of after-release support would probably make Randy split his sides laughing.

I'd be surprised if this single issue wasn't patched because all the work has already been done for them, it's in their financial interest to to so, it's insanely easy, it'll drum up a few sales/reinstalls, and give them some cheap PR (any publicity is good publicity for the most part, and they can play spinning it as being the caring dev somehow).

The thing that says the most about the dev is that I am sure this change will be done without a single bit of play testing, as that puts them at risk of finding more things that need fixing and fuck knows they're not going to do that.

When was the last time the game was patched? I highly doubt anyone at Gearbox gives enough of a shit to check for bugs on a game that was launched and received with all the ceremony of a wet fart while you're driving on the freeway.

for what its worth it was very, very different from Overwatch. I find it hard to compare to anything, except maybe it was closer to smite? Whatever the case it was a real FPS-moba hybrid which is fucking weird

Only a matter of time until that happens. The screenshots prove that someone has that build. If it's someone who can be tracked down is the big question. But come hell or high water this build will get out there legal or not. Smartest thing Randy can do is hire some modders to finish it and put it out there for $20. Too bad Randy's not smart.

The guy who currently owns 3D Realms, Frederik Schreiber, has the build, and he has done some private streams of himself playing it, that's where the most recent leaked images from that build come from.

If it ever leaks, Gearbox could easily sue (again) 3D Realms, blaming them for the leak.
