Sure - I also agree. This has been a thing for decades, though - the Southern Strategy - and she's managed to frame it in such a way that white poor people are doubly evil. Because white people are only evil, never also victims.

I also find it interesting because attempting to pit people against each other over racism so they wouldn't focus on classism/income inequality used to be the domain of the right, but nowadays the left is just as guilty of it, if not moreso. And this post is a good example of that, because it's clearly coming from a left perspective and is recognising the problem, but still uses that as a chance to divide people over race.
 
People bitching about "cringe culture" will never not be funny to me. It's true that some people take it to the next level when they shouldn't (actually harassing children under their drawings, that's really uncalled for), but this has been going for decades now. Show me the internet when it wasn't infested with jerks laughing at other people.
If people laugh at your interests, it's probably because you deserve it. Grow a thicker skin and just enjoy what you do. In the wise words of Tyler the Creator:

It's never enough. Give an option for a blonde white girl to have a dick and suddenly people be like "Why no black ladydick? Why no indian ladydick?" Give an option for a tranny to have a functioning vagina and they're all like "why are you shaming transwomen with dicks?" No point in even trying to make them happy.

The fetishization has always bugged me with video games. Like... you're allowed to pick your sex in a video game, so why would you want to be trans? Just pick the thing you're transitioning to... oh wait, that's a gender binary. Fuck this planet.

No kidding. I have a couple friends who bought the original game and returned it because of how crass and demeaning the dialog was towards all of the female characters. The series was never about respectful representation in the first place, and to think otherwise requires a very special mindset.

Or in other words, notice how everyone complaining about it seems to be the exact same type of person. Super pale shut-in trans woman. Gee, I wonder why these people only started being offended now?:thinking:

Not to mention they blindly assume straight men ruined the character, and didn't give a second thought about the lesbians that play the game since you can choose the main character's gender.

The left seems to be doing a lot of shit lately that were mostly relegated to the right for decades.

My current theory is that rich influencers who were previously conservative got in early and started using the exact same tactics they'd used before against lefties and it just sort of mutated from there.
