IMO the majority of these people are the female equivalent of a basement dweller; terrified of the opposite sex for no reason, live in a delusional fantasy land where someone else has to fix the problems, a strong fixation with childish fantasies/media, unhealthy attachment to their sexual fantasies, complete disconnect from how the real world works, obsessive need to belong to a group... the list goes on and on. It's just that now, with the internet, they can contact each other without having to leave their houses.

They probably have a normal/slightly high level of anxiety that has been allowed to fester into this unholy mess.
