This type of talk is often targeted at those "evil cis gays" or the whole "cotton ceiling" mess.
Is it such a difficult concept to these people that gay men... like penises on men? Or something?
Why is it that they feel that people should be obligated to have sex with them?
I'm not sure if this is powerleveling, but every gay/lesbian person I've personally talked to about the subject has mentioned that sex is a vital part of a relationship, and they'd prefer to sleep with someone with the same genitals as they have. A couple of gay men I know have specifically stated that they do not find vaginas appealing. One of them said "maybe I could sleep with someone with a vagina" but a couple weeks later, said "I don't think I can, I'm just not into it. I can't enjoy sex like that."
Of course, that doesn't mean a gay man would sleep with a pre-op transwoman just because they have a penis, and tumblr is quick to use this as a rebuttal. They seem to forget that people have preferences on physical appearances as well (i.e. lesbians being attracted to those who specifically look like women—and preferably with vaginas).

People write what they know, for one. Especially when it comes to sensitive social issues where people will throw fits if your portrayal is "wrong", "stereotypical", "perpetuating", or "unrealistic".
If you want your own gay romance movies, make them.
Plus, people shoehorn in romantic subplots so that they can get an easy tug at the heartstrings. If it was a shoehorned gay romance, would it honestly be better?

And then when straight people actually do add gay romances to media, these same people will complain that it wasn't 'an accurate portrayal' or 'borderline fetishization of the LGBT'. They're in a continuous, monotonous state of complaining.
