It's easy enough to explain. They're emotional morons who want to be able to do anything they want, up to and including walking around naked without anyone looking at them the wrong way let alone commenting on it, and also want to restrict what everyone else can do so that no one can so much as unintentionally cause them a negative thought about how ugly they are with a sexy drawing. There's no consistent philosophy or ideology here, it's a self-centered crusade over their own insecurities. They're blundering infantile control freaks who have been told they're righteous by what are currently society's worst institutions.

This is a good example of the type of art the sub would criticize when it was founded. There are obvious anatomy problems where the girl looks like boobs and butt on a stick, and it's about as realistic and appealing as "yaoi hands." Their standards are so eroded now that literally any drawing of a woman can qualify as "bad bad sexist art" at this point.
 
this whole subreddit is retarded. just let people draw their own fucking art! sure it looks stupid, but it's art! art is subjective.
 
This place is odd at times with what they consider passable designs. Something like this would get torn apart on Bikini Battle Armor Damage or that they consider Amythist from SU a good design despite there being cleavage and torn clothing around it.

Judging by the cover, the two characters aren't of the same race or species, nor is the male given more attention than the female. The female is clearly the protagonist everyone's supposed to relate to here.
BTW the artist is, again, a woman.

They never watch/read 90% of the stories from the artwork they criticize, and clearly cherry pick whatever looks bad on the surface level--not like anyone will verify lol. (Could it be, also, that the girl character is meant to be an easier self-insert for female readers?)

It's totally possible for a woman to get beefy arms from actively working out, but the idea that working out makes women's tits and ass deflate to nothing is a fucking joke. If a woman works out a lot and has enough food and meat to fuel that, her body still produces estrogen to maintain the female physique... that's how hormones work, shockingly. That pseudo-troon look only happens when women start taking large amounts of steroids to counteract the estrogen which naturally, you know, gives them small muscles and large tits. Also go to a gym or a hiking trail: Fit women IRL don't look like Abby, even when working out heavily. (Again, 'roid abuse creates Abby physique IRL, not "working out a lot")

I'm a bit late to the party, but I need to sperg a little because this is even more ridiculous in context. Meteora looks that way because she's half monster. She has that form because she's on an evil hate fueled rampage. She normally looks like this.

The reason I bring this up at all is because they clearly haven't seen the show. If they had, some of other female character designs would give them an aneurysm. Let's look at a few of the good guys.

Star Butterfly, the slim, pretty female lead

Now I'm not here to say the character designs are good or bad. I have no artistic ability and I honestly couldn't tell you. Plus, it's a simple art style, and none of those designs are THAT sexualized. It's a Disney show after all. My point is that alongside the intentionally ugly (VILLAIN) Meteora, the show's creator had no problem drawing conventionally attractive female characters. The only possible explanation, of course, is the creator's excessive toxic maleness and his male testosterone leading to male misogyny and male hatred of strong, independent wombyn with good personalities.

Certainly better than Abby from TLOU2, who is being celebrated as a realistic looking female. This muscle elf looks female and does nt have male muscle mass. I guess that is offensive because she isn't a hulking shemale who can throw a dumptruck 50 feet.

As Larry Correia once said when someone ridiculed his Monster Hunter series for featuring a woman in a skintight leather jumpsuit prominently on a lot of covers, "I don't care. Those covers sold a lot of books for me." Cheesecake can be an effective way to get some people to pick up a work by an author they've never heard of and give it a chance. That doesn't make what's behind the cover automatically bad. "Don't judge a book by its cover" is apparently not a lesson these people took to heart as children.

As for Abby, even body builder women will look different than men because of how hormones effect basic skeletal and muscular development. Women's pelvis is a different shape, leading to a different hip and waist shape. Men's shoulders are broader in comparison to the rest of them. The difference can be subtle, but the human brain notices it across every body type except the dangerously skinny. We're programmed to.

Any woman who resembles a male linebacker either has a natural hormonal imbalance of some sort, or is roiding.

It's a creative decision that's financially viable. But many of these complainers don't have a good concept of what is profitable, or how target audiences work. Usually when that's brought up, the counter argument is "Doing it the woke way will totally be profitable too! Look how much demand we have as critics!" which is yet another joke. The "judge a book by its cover" crowd didn't buy most of these games/stories before, why would they start now? It's been shown time and time again in the last few years, that the vocal minority who complains about big titties doesn't actually show up for financial support when companies cave to their demands. Comic sales have been a good example of this.

I get the impression that a lot of these complainers genuinely want to see some of the franchises that they complain about fail. It's like they get genuinely upset that these franchises are so successful, and feel... personally hurt. Maybe they take offense to not seeing their bodies on the cover, when they are uggos themslves. Then turn it into a personal vendetta against a franchise.
