While I appreciate attempts at better moderation, keeping a hugbox is not the way to do it, I think. Perhaps they should just allow people to state their opinions, no matter how dumb they are, because there is a thing called freedom of speech.

The fact the anti-Gamergaters quintupled down on defending a pedophile with years of documented, self-admitted pedophilia across a wide number of communities, even after Sick Nick Nyberg eventually admitted he had done it all (but was supposedly just a 20-something year old "teenage edgelord" sharing CP and browsing boards dedicated to it, and the cousin's family made sure he fucked off and stayed away from their daughter for no reason), all because Sick Nick was part of Chelsea's anti-GG crew really is disturbing.

Now that Gamergate has been over for 2 years or so, the people who still post on /r/Gamerghazi and /r/KotakuinAction really display some of the worst fucking people on both sides of the political spectrum. They're a nice snapshot of extremist morons on both sides.

Honestly, even though I post on KIA, I find it hard to disagree.

GamerGhazi is filled with a bunch of koolaid drinking idiots who are too proud to admit they have put their weight into a flawed, soiled cause that was easily discredited at best, but KIA does not help matters sometimes.

KIA, in my opinion, would be better off ignoring GamerGhazi. As I learned first hand, they are zealots for a cause that has so many holes in it now calling it swiss cheese would be an understatement, but KIA's occasional fixating on shoveling dirt on their graves all the time is just fueling a pointless dick waving contest over who was "right".

As I've come to learn, GamerGhazi is like Chris-chan: leave both alone and they usually screw up in hilarious ways all by themselves and all you need to do is reach for the popcorn.
