Oh man, if you've never read /r/hapas you're in for a treat. It's like /r/incels with an extra dose of racial self-hatred.

I'm actually kinda surprised there's no /r/hapas thread here to be honest.

I forgot them. I'll make a thread on them.

/r/neofag got banned in the first wave. We were tiny. Only about 1000 subscribers. There was no doxing and because the subject in question was off-site, it's not like we were brigading. I'm pretty sure someone called in a favor to get us gone. It was pretty funny to see huge mainstream sites have to write the name.

Frankly I always assumed you guys got banned because of "fag" in the title as a derogatory term. blah blah blah hate speech. That seems more the Reddit way.

I'm sure there are more popular subs with worse words in their names.

Oh yeah, I'm sure there were complaints made about /r/neofag in general. I just think "fag" gave them the justification to ban you guys for hate speech or some shit like that.

I'm actually kinda surprised they leave KiA alone, but I guess they've grown too big to ban.

It's more like KIA's mods are so overly paranoid of giving the admins the slightest reason to get them banned and have proven to be so zealous in clamping down on anything that could piss the Reddit admins off it's nigh impossible to find anything to use as a wedge against them.

The fact GamerGate ended in KIA's favor and most of its enemies are completely or almost entirely discredited now has taken away a lot of reasons for Reddit's admins to listen to the people who want KIA shut down out of sheer spite.

The KIA mods are not very popular for their paranoia, but I'll admit it has served them well.

All subreddits are created equal, it is just that some are more equal than others. ShitRedditSays a/k/a SRS has a long history of getting a free pass for everything from brigading to removing the "gilding" button to (arguably) doxing, all with zero pushback from the Reddit Admins. Why this is the case I'm not quite sure, though I've also seen it claimed that at least a few SRS regulars are also board-wide Reddit Admins.

/r/SRSSucks is hardly an unbiased party to stuff like this, but this kind of old thread offers some pretty compelling evidence of the sort of crap SRS pulls.
The rumors I've heard is that back before they had admin support some of the more deranged users gave reddit staff irl grief so they just let them do whatever so they'd fuck off.

Arguably, SRS invented the set of tactics that contributed to the rise of Internet SJWs in general, and which is also the reason they are now so utterly detested by all sane people.

Given that I think they were originally Something Awful goons, I'd put the blame on Something Awful more myself.

Yes and no. SA has strict rules on off-site brigading, so they mostly migrated to Twitter and started there, and then went to Reddit and took over SRS. Basically, they wanted to make fun of Reddit users, and most of SA has the mentality of "we don't give a fuck about Reddit" so they needed to move somewhere they could

SA was the congregation point for what would eventually become SRS, but I don't think they really started using that set of tactics until they'd moved to Twitter. Granted, I kinda stayed away from GBS/LF during this era, so I could be wrong, but that's the impression I always got. Twitter was the place they would go to organize things that would get them banned if they tried to talk about them on SA (ie. organized raids on Reddit)

Reddit has strict rules on brigading, at least in theory.

I don't think SRS would be at all out of place on Something Awful, but maybe it was different then.

Oh, no, SRS wouldn't be out of place. I don't deny that SRS basically started as a bunch of people from SA that hated Reddit (for some legit reasons but mostly bullshit SJW ones). That part is accurate.

All I'm saying is that the active brigading likely didn't start on SA. SA has very little patience for that. Admins especially don't want to start shit with Reddit because Reddit is significantly bigger than SA and would win that fight.

Laissez Faire ruined Something Awful and it upsets me that so many people paint SA with the SJW paintbrush when it was only a few dipshit asshole Marxists who fucked it up for everyone. Hell, ask Lowtax about LF, they got the fucking Secret Service called on him. It was a bad forum that should have been nuked years earlier.

Some of the comments on SRS are genuinely shitty, it's just that the community is just as bad in their own way.

The whole idea of charging people money to use an internet forum is bad. Here I could access the majority of the site and search without even having an account. It should never have existed.

That's a separate argument, one that I can see both sides of. But getting into that would derail this thread even worse than I have already. We can talk about this in the SA thread if you want.

You linked to Kiwi Farms directly @Pointless Pedant, they hate us and think we're gamergate.

Also it got removed again.

I'm now banned from GamerGhazi. I'm going to argue with the moderators and see what responses I get.

I said:
I'm deeply concerned with your decision to ban me for casting light on the problematic behaviour of one of the posters in your subreddit. /u/Vadara is not the sort of person who benefits a social justice movement and has repeatedly posted disturbing material under various aliases on the internet.

Even if you just consider reddit, this post

Is there a particular reason why you insistently describe pregnancy with this histrionic and incredibly negative language?

is incredibly insensitive to women.

Waste of time, buddy. Ghazi is a cult of doomsayers who believe they'll be sent to the camps any day now for all sorts of crazy reasons and will accept any degenerate sick fuck and actively shield them so long as they chant along with the hive mind. The only time they cast out people is for heresy against their groupthink.

I just consider them a bunch of histrionic, hypocritical lunatics only worth pointing and laughing at these days.

They must have got worse. I got banned for arguing with them on an old reddit account years ago, but I made a good few posts first. This time I was banned for trying to out a paedophile without even so much as a comment.

They haven't taken Trump's victory well.
