The sex obsession with the Duggars strikes me more as boob’s problem than Michelle’s, despite her perpetuating their fetishistic view of it.

Jim Bob and Josh are probably two peas in a pod in more way than one. He’s creepy as fuck, and the obsession over women and sexuality is disturbing. Wonder what happened to him growing up or what happened in his life.

I think it's inherent to the movement. As in, there's plenty of sex going on, obviously. It paradoxically condemns birth control (along with certain branches of Christianity). Kind of brainwashes the kids into buying into the breeder cult.

The only thing that's missing is the polygamy, but that's the Mormon fundies.

The Duggs believe this too. I can't remember where I read it (may have been in one of their books), but they have a rule about not having sex within a certain number of days after one's period because it's "unclean". They also abstain for 40 days after having a girl and 80 days after having a boy (which is just weird. do they think penises do some extra destruction on the way out?)

Meech doesn't really explain much to the girlchildren about their periods until they get their first one (which would be horrendous for the older kids since it must be alarming to say the least if you start bleeding from your genitals with no clue what's going on. I'm sure nowadays the younger kids have been warned by their sisters). She just gifts them a "special" period pack full of pads (tampons are evil and will take your virginity) and some candy and is like "ok this will happen every month for the rest of your life have fun bye." The older kids also track Michelle's cycle on the big fridge calendar which is just so fucking weird.
I thought it was the other way around...the bible says a woman is “unclean” for 40 days after the birth of a boy, 80 after a girl because women are extra foul in the eyes of our Loving God, and can’t go to church during that time because Reasons.

I feel like it's almost a weird form of child grooming too, like fully immerse girls in the idea that they exist to pop out babies and nothing more. That Meech is the future they can look forward to.

I bet they'd loose their shit if one of the girls wanted to go on birth control or get an IUD, even if it was just to deal with medical issues like heavy periods.

Also JB has got to have some kind of fucked up sex pest shit going on, wouldn't be surprised if he gets off on grooming his daughters to be broodmares.
Pregnancy fetish exists ect, hes definitely got one. This is why sheltered often religious girls or kids are easy to groom they are taught really warped shit. JB smile always gave me instant fear, like you know hes twisted or weird

I just looked it up, and I definitely had them mixed up. I should have known to err on the side of misogyny

Nothing about periods? The Old Testament claims that everything a woman touches is "unclean" when it's that time of the month.
They barely discussed it at all, apart from saying that tampons took your virginity and that any pain or irregularity was Cancer (Endometriosis and other things like that were myths, Cancer is the one and only reason you would ever feel pain during a period, and the only reason it would ever be irregular.)

I got to have sex ed classes in catholic junior high school in the early 1980s in California. It was MUCH more informative than the sex ed in public school. I mean we had one of our parishioners that was a nurse come in and give the whole thing to us. We watched the silly movies with the dolls having sex so we could "see" missionary syle PIV. She told us about the clit but not much more than it existed. Masturbation was of course a sin because of spilling seed etc but that was on the boys not us girls. Of course the focus was on having sex when married. But at least the lady told us exactly what would happen when we got our periods. She even taught us about tampons and how they were great for going swimming.

It was shockingly progressive compared to what these poor fundie kids are getting RIGHT NOW in 2020. I mean i get telling a kid that is a good idea to save sex for marriage for reasons but not to tell them the rest? Like even the mechanics? And what happens when you get your period? They need to be strung up just for that. Ugh. Just ugh.

I also had really thorough and biologically accurate sex ed at Catholic school. The Catholics are stupid and fucked in their own special way — but at least church doctrine acknowledges science and medicine as “knowledge given to humanity by God.”

In 5th grade, we learned about all the reproductive organs and had homework/tests to label all the parts, penis cross section and all. In 8th grade, we had to watch the 1970s Miracle of Life live birth movie. Traumatic.

The only “fundie” aspect was that we were continually told sex was a gift from God given to married men and women.

If you google Jubilee Duggar, you may find more images than just then hands and feet, but I think they're still sick fucks for publicizing even the hands and feet.
"Jubilee Duggar died at 20 weeks in the womb :( But look at those tiny feet and hands! Not a "fetus" a REAL baby."

Sigh
"Harm my hands and feet and I can learn to grasp and walk without, harm my brain and I can learn no more." Qoute from a wise old man I once knew. At the time he was explaining the difference in severity between physical and intellectual disabilities, but I think the idea of his message applies here as well.

Like jim boobs big house or heaven lol?
Jim Boobs place. But they probably tell her they hold the keys to both.

Out of all the kids people thought would rebel, no one ever guessed Jim's favorite little Jilly Bean would be the one. He even arranged for her to marry a guy with a real job, which he now probably regrets with a burning passion. It gave them the ability to make their own decisions, and now she's a crunchy hippy mom of two kids (and done) with a lawyer husband and no need for teevee money handed out as a stipend only by daddy.

And for this thought crime, she isn't allowed at the big house, but her rapist is.

I hate the fucking media. Vultures, all of them. It's a private drive in the country you asswipe. GTFO! Stalk from further out if you must.
Apparently they weren't actually in the driveway, just at the end of it. Journos suck but if they're gonna stalk anyone they might as well stalk a chomo and his enablers. At least some of them might care to make sure he stays away from kids.

The fact that's she said friends plural has the Duggars ark crowd thinking Anna is staying there as well.

It is absolutely inherent to the movement. Women are taught to be "joyfully available" to their husbands, no excuses. I promise there are plenty of people in the IFB who blame Josh's wife for his sins.

Overall, the responsibility for men's behavior is placed on women. Even when Josh molested his sisters, they became responsible to not tempt him. They had to sleep fully clothed (no more tempting nightgowns!) and lock their doors at night.

I was raised in this shit, and the way sex is treated is pretty much the perfect breeding ground abusers, chomos, and rapists. I've seen teenage girls raped by grown men who have been forced to apologize in front of the church for tempting the man. My parents have told me that they think this is a liberal conspiracy to silence a godly man.

The courtroom sketch artist really managed to catch Josh's creepy old man side. *chef kiss*

I don’t doubt this for a second, but where did you read the proof of it?
I've seen people mentioning it on duggerssnark. I think the show might've gone into it.

Thay story is disgusting but I can believe it, it tracks with the kind of shit my friends who were raised fundie have told me and the shit I've seen fundies do and say directly.

Wonder what the zoomer tradLARPers out there who want to insist fundies are pure and innocent beings who dindu nothin wrong would say about shit like fundies forcing teen girls who were raped to apologize to chomos in church?

Reading all of these testimonies about sexual education; I guess I feel kind of (lol) blessed for what we did have at the christian private school I attended. Outside of some really funny moments, like the school principal being too flustered to describe the birthing process and quite literally said "And the baby popped out of the thing and came into the world as a new boy!".

As much as I resent a lot of the classical fundamental teachings and beliefs, we were at least shown National Geographic documentaries on reproduction as well as fully labelled examples of male and female anatomy, including the clitoris. The general perspective was entirely abstinence based because nothing was 100% and we got shown some pretty fucked up fundie documentaries about sexual purity-

-I mean, there was one story in this video I distinctly remember, where a 20-something year old is talking about how she got raped as a teenager and was therefore not allowed to wear white at her wedding because she was unpure, so had to have a blue wedding dress.

We learned a ton about anatomy, which in many cases was great; we all knew about menstruation and cycles, but I think that while that was beneficial, the psychological aspect was incredibly damaging towards sexual health and exploration. While learning about our bodies, we were also taught a certain level of shame towards them, one message being about the shame Adam and Eve felt and because of this loss of innocence, there was no innocence in nudity, etc.

One thing about relationships is that sexual compatibility is important and if you're just going into it blind, well. I don't have enough fingers to count off the amount of classmates I've had who have gotten divorced from their virgin marriages because there was a severe lack of physical intimacy going on beforehand. I'm not surprised that there's so much rampant sexual abuse in the church because sexual repression is taught so much.

Yeah rushing into marriage, especially with zero sexual exploration seems to never end well. I know one of my friends who went to a fundie college said a lot of her old classmates also ended up as young single moms with a bunch of kids all with different dads. Like the just went nuts after starting to leave fundie-dom but still didnt know anything about healthy relationships or contraception.
