Bail in federal court is very different from bail in the state system. Bail bondsmen are rarely used in federal court, and for indigent defendants, there is rarely a cash component to a federal bail. Instead, the judge will set your bond amount with conditions that may include co-signers to ensure your return to court. A bond is basically a contract between you, your co-signers, and the government. This contract requires that you show up to your court dates and comply with the conditions of the bond. If you do not, the government can collect up to the full amount of the bond from you and each of your co-signers.

I absolutely blame his parents. They sexually repress boys going through puberty telling them that masturbating is a disgusting sin while brushing off incestual child abuse. They won't let their daughters who (gasp) wear pants be alone with their siblings but being a pedo is OK. When a porn star accused Josh of raping and choking her, they used all their connections and money to have her squashed.

This shit has been consistently escalating since Josh was a kid and they never forced him to take any real responsibility for his actions. Jim Bob and Meech are enablers. I said in the other thread that they should be forced to watch the videos he was fapping to. Whatever it takes to get through to them that they raised a fucking monster. Despite the DD, the rape allegation, and the humiliation he has caused, they are still supporting him and paying his legal fees. Fuck them.

Anna is complicit too. She lets him be alone with her children. What do you think goes through this guy's mind as he is changing a diaper? The only possible way my opinion on her would change is if she were playing 4D chess and learned Linux on the sly, asked one of the prisoners her father preaches to what the worst possible thing that could be found is, and planted it herself to get him away from her kids. The only reasonable way she could possibly believe the CP was planted is if she did it herself. The odds of her being that sophisticated are slim to none.

I hope he dies in jail. A pre-trial suicide would be better but he is the type of narcissist that actually believes he can talk his way out of this. I'd heard of DD and Peter Scully before, but never looked too deep into it. I've done some research now and read some things describing events that allegedly take place in the DD video. It's a special breed of CP called hurtcore which, according to Wikipedia, even other pedos who consume CSA content think is too extreme. The entire point of hurtcore is to cause as much pain as possible to a child. The people who view this get off specifically on seeing the children scared and crying.

Three kids are featured. Two of them are apparently killed during production of the thing, at least one of their deaths being shown. (Getting conflicting info on if both the murders were filmed or not. I believe it is the youngest victim that survives.) They are tortured with lighters, hung upside down, and made to dig their own graves.

And that is the 'tamer' information on the video that could actually be released by news sites. The exact details of the worst actions Scully took could not be released, and that is what this filth was getting off on.

Not only did Josh download this video, he obtained multiple copies of the file for some reason while lying to his wife about why he was late to come home.

He looked for this, it's not something you could find by accident, and it's not something you could find without having some knowledge of what's in it. He went specifically looking for something known to be the worst of the worst. It's not enough to see the kids be raped, he wants to see them tortured and killed too. His interest in such a depraved video tells me he's somehow managed to be even more of a danger to children than other pedos are.

It is extra revolting to me that a person who's only reason for being famous is because he's part of a cult dedicated to popping out baby after baby hates children so much he'd seek out and enjoy this content. He gets off to children being in pain, he gets off to them being tortured to the point of death, yet he's had nonstop access to tons of them for years and is still being granted access to his own kids. Dude's worse than Nick Bate.
 
Letting this sick fuck loose on bail is not only stupid, it's dangerous. The stress from his arrest could trigger him to molest/assault one of his own children, or he could go full family annihilator to spare them the 'indignity' of his conviction. The kids wouldn't be safe just because they're inside the main house with Jim Bob and Meech.

I hope they have a squad car parked right across the street from this "Family Friend".

Seriously. I hope someone has a plan in place to keep this shithead busy. Hard labor would do the trick. You do not want to give someone in his situation the time to stew on their predicament. He's prime to hurt himself (fine) or others.
But he may genuinely believe he has a good shot at getting off.
 
Hearing it confirmed to be DD left me stunned. I really didn't want to believe it was true.
You can't redeem someone that evil. Jesus would shake his head and walk away. There's no going back from this. The guy is more than a monster--he's a fucking abomination. And the fact that his family will continue to defend him is so incredibly fucked up I have no words.

Feed him to the sharks. He has no right to call himself a human being.
 
I think anyone who thinks he hasn't already molested his own children is exceedingly dim, or at the very least, far too optimistic about these types of sick fucks. Also I have no sympathy for his wife - sure, sure, cults, she's been programmed, but for fucks sake, these are your children and you are supposed to, at the very least, not offer them up on a pedo-silver-coated plate just to keep your husband.

Because that's what it comes down to - for whatever reason, if her children are an acceptable sacrifice for her to not rock the boat, she's just as bad a mother as Josh is a father, and equally complicit.

Unfortunately it's not uncommon at all for a mother (or an entire family) to rally around the pedo and defend them, and I have no doubt that's what will happen here. That judge that let him go to be around his kids has got to be a pedo himself, because no human being with a sliver of compassion for child sex abuse victims would allow that.

For clarity’s sake, no one was killed in DD. Daisy survived, plus one of the other girls and they were released or escaped. The third girl was reportedly later killed by Scully, but this was never proven and was just a statement from one of his ex girlfriends. So afaik no one knows where that girl went.

Those girls will be dead inside for the rest of their lives, unable to trust people, make connections, like their bodies, or dare to hope. Even if they're physically alive, he still killed them.

I'm sure the defense will be along the lines of "well we have no proof he actually watched it. He's just a simple Christian God fearing man who doesn't know how the internet works and mistakenly downloaded all this." I'm sure the defense will say some mystery man partitioned his computer and Josh will pleas ignorance to its contents. I hope he's found guilty and I hope his parents waste all their money trying to appeal it for the rest of their miserable lives.

ETA Just look at his mug shot. That's the face of a rich white boy who knows mommy and daddy will bail him out. Call me MOTI but that smirk really does illicit a certain rage within me knowing he had the worst of the worst CP and he just does not care.

Foreshadowing from the hearing suggests he is going for the, "It wasn't me, I was set up," defense. Possible scapegoats are the one brown man who was on the car lot, one of his brothers or even Anna. Several news sites are reporting that the feds were tipped off by the local police. That means that he was probably ratted out ergo somebody knew what he was up to or set him up. It could also be that the feds have trackers on every copy of that video on the internet and the local police story is to protect that info from the public.

There is still the possibility he cuts a deal. As discovery goes on and they see all the evidence the prosecution has, his lawyer will might try to convince him to make a deal. His parents and wife should too. It would be a humiliating spectacle for the family. I hope the prosecution offers nothing less than 25 years. The fact that it was hurtcore has to play a major role in sentencing. For the first time I have considered that perhaps CP offences ought to be graded with nudity on the low end and snuff at the top. It sounds crazy, even to me but this situation has opened my eyes. All pedos are vile but some are way worse.
