That's... the best one? *really?!*
YOU DON'T BOIL MILK, IT CURDLES IT AND RUINS ANY SAUCE, WHERE THE FUCK IS THE SEASONING?! Seriously, for those that don't wanna click, here's the potpie recipe:
10 cups milk
5 tsp. salt
1/4 cup chicken soup base
1 1/2 cups cornstarch
1/2 cup Italian dressing
14 cups cooked mixed veggies
8 cups cooked diced chicken
10 FUCKING CUPS?! With only 1/4th base are you FUCKING kidding me?!
Great recipe, phenominal, milky chicken and veg.
Where's the garlic salt? Not even paprika, the white bitch spice? Pepper? Dill? Coriander? Sage? ANYTHING?
...yknow what, at least there's salt.
Anyone who actually wants to try and doctor this abomination, you're better off with flour. Corn starch is... well, starch. They also didn't include buttering the crust before baking which is a baking sin.
Let's see... for every 2 cups of milk, typically you have a cup or so of flour for a crust. Herb crusts are honestly best for a pot pie, so some fresh rosemerry that's been ground into dust so you aren't eating pine needles, all spice, fresh dill, etc would go great.
Pot pies should always have a rue in them, so basically milk, flour and butter. I tend to like adding cream cheese for white sauces and heavy whipping cream for the milk, but that'd get expensive with a billion kids, so just a big container of cream cheese would work. I'd probably put in (for this rediculously large batch) about 8 oz of it. (2 oz for a regular sauce) and then some freshly chopped or pickled garlic (sounds gross, tastes fine.)
You'd be best off pre-cooking the chicken, at least half way, with some of the garlic and onions, maybe mushrooms if you like adding that to it. Half rue, half mushroom soup is pretty good for pot pies. Peppers if you want a small kick to it.
I'd also season the chicken seperate, using powdered mustard, cumin, thyme, and dill. Toss the half cooked chicken in the pie with the rue (that should be cooked on medium low, don't let it boil) cabbage is pretty good at giving proper vitamins while being a good filler if you don't have a lot of veggies on hand or are harder to get, mixed with fresh spinach leaves, carrots, and broccoli. I personally love cauliflower and corn in pot pies but you throw whatever the fuck in it. And there ya go!
