If you don't believe women need separate spaces away from men (including troons), look at sexual abuse that occurs in organized religion. The religion isn't the problem. I'll spoiler my unpopular opinion.
It isn't the religion that's the problem, but it's power without accountability. Men have physical power over women. These men weren't accountable spiritually to the people they served. Being a spiritual leader means having excellent spiritual hygiene. You should hold those men to higher standards.
Something I struggled with in my late teens and twenties was not justifying things I knew were wrong or evil. There's this logic that something is "not that bad" and it becomes an easy excuse:
It's not that bad to look at solo masturbation videos of women because no one is exposing her to any real harm and she is obviously over 18. It's not like she could be controlled by a pimp or an addiction that will ruin her life and kill her. And after all, muh freedoms, and, "It's her choice, patriarch. We all know you only hate pornography because you hate women patriarch. Enjoy prison, patriarch."
At a higher level, like in a church, things like child pornography happen because of this nonsense that somehow girls are equally as accountable as men, who have more power. When leadership fails to have higher standards and accountability, corrupt leadership will commit terrible acts like this as they convince themselves it simply wasn't that bad. She said yes. There was no penetrative sex. The list goes on and on. The unsung heroes of why this has come to light in fundie churches are women in the church holding men accountable. If you want to lead like God, you have to strive for His standards. And it is hard, but it is worth it, and it is better than a secular life.
