It looks like Anna is distancing herself from the Duggars

Good. Maybe her parents don't want to see their daughter having to stay with pedo Josh, and actually want her to get a divorce. I think even they realize how the world looks down on her for staying with Josh, and do not want their daughter's reputation to be furthered tarnished.

And from this article, it seems that even Meech and Boob realize that to make Anna stay with Josh, is also casting bad publicity on them as well and their cult, because people can see clearly that women are forced to stay with a man, no matter what he does, and realize that is fucked up.

So, very :optimistic: , but I hope that this means Anna is on her way to divorce herself from her husband. Especially because there's a high chance he molested their own children, his sick urges can never be cured, and he is a defective human being, that does not belong in society. I hope her family is super supportive, and they can help with housing her and her kids.

That would be nice, but as great as it is that the Kellers don't cut off their kids who broke out of fundamentalism, they're still a quiverfull family who thinks Jesus literally drank grape juice and that's what the bible means by wine, so alcohol bad. They believe dancing is sinful under almost every circumstance. They're really not that far removed from the Duggars, hence why they intermarried.

I think the Duggars know that having Anna live with them is bad optics. I think the Kellers want to support Anna through a difficult time, so it's completely understandable that they're there for her. I don't think in a million years they're going to recommend divorce. It's anathema to them. You never, ever get a divorce. Look at the stuff Lori puts out blaming abused wives for their own abuse. That's the world they're from. Even if they're not as extreme as Lori is and don't think Anna could have done anything to 'help' Josh, they still believe marriage is a sacred covenant and Josh is her ultimate headship. Dad would be completely undermining Josh's authority if he told Anna to get divorced and make her basically an outcast in their very insular circle. A woman who initiates a divorce in their world is damaged goods who failed.

Bobbye Holt is making some ... Interesting statements to The Ashley and some social media posts

Bobye Holt says Josh Duggar was almost prosecuted for assaulting his sisters
After she told her story in court, Holt faced criticism on social media from those who thought she should have taken the information she knew about Duggar to the authorities much sooner. In response, Holt posted on Facebook that they’ve been trying to report Josh’s crimes for years.

“We’ve been screaming this from the mountain tops for 18+ years!” Bobye told one person, per The Ashley. She later added, “You have no idea how many times it has been taken to authorities. When I say, ‘They didn’t do their job,’ I truly mean, they didn’t do their job!”

Josh Duggar was nearly put on trial in 2007
Holt also claimed that Josh came close to being charged with sexual assault for molesting four of his sisters and one other unnamed girl. (Note: This claim has not been confirmed)
Did you know that [there] was going to be a trial for the abuse in 2007?” Bobye wrote. “Did you know my husband and our daughter were subpoenaed for that trial? Did you know the prosecution dropped it because my family was going to testify?”
She went on to explain that Duggar’s action occurred in 2002 and 2003, but all he received was a “stern” talking to from Jim Bob’s friend, state trooper Joseph Hutchens. He was never investigated, and his crimes weren’t officially reported. (Hutchens is now serving prison time for child pornography)
“Remember the trooper [Josh] was taken to? This was 2004. He did NOTHING because [Jim Bob] lied to him and set it up,” Bobye wrote. “We didn’t find this out until the end of 2006. Then [Josh] was taken to authorities AGAIN, the 3rd time! Then that’s when there was supposed to be a trial, but the prosecuting attorney dropped it because our family was subpoenaed to testify.”

Fat Josh incoming:

Recent Josh Duggar news notes the Duggar family can send Josh gifts while he stays at the Washington County Jail in solitary confinement. According to The Sun, the jail ATM website is accessible for anyone who wants to send Josh gifts. The website has various care packages available to send — and they involve food.

The site notes the care packages start at $22 each, and each package contains a different type of food item or snack. The Salty Care Package has Doritos, chips, Cheetos, buffalo pretzel pieces, and more. The Sweet Care Package contains candies like Three Muskateers candy bars, Snickers, M&Ms, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Jolly Ranchers, and more.

The Soup Lovers Care Pack for $30.95 contains several different types of Ramen packets as well as saltine crackers. The A.M. Delight Care Pack that goes for $44 contains instant coffee, cappuccino, bagels with cream cheese, mini donuts, Pop-Tarts, and more.

The Big Deal Care Pack goes for $109 and includes various meals, candies, and snacks.
It seems Josh might be the most interested in the Meal Deal Care Pack that goes for $44, though. This care package contains three dill pickles (a Duggar favorite) in addition to a lasagna pouch, a taco filling pouch, saltine crackers, tortilla shells, and more.

So, the fundies in my area are a bit different from most of the families in this thread, but I would like to point out some differences that these fundies do versus the ones in the thread.

First, their home school curricular is more attuned to other religious private schools, that allow both secular and religious teachings, modeling after the Renaissance period. Every male in the family will be sent to a college, whether a university or a community college. The males in the family are expected to provide for their families, and their parents realize they somewhat have to conform to societal norms, if they want their children to be successful.

Not all families, but some, will allow the daughters to go to college to be nurses, teachers (only elementary), accountants, or to get jobs like a secretary or librarians, but not for the daughter's well being. No, they only allow their daughters to do this because they might be matched with a man who needs his wife to support him while he pursues his own education (or to help with mommy and daddy's bills for having 14 people in the house). And, though they never want to admit this, they don't want their daughters to be destitute should something happen to the husband, because the parents won't be able to help them and their 8+ grandchildren, because they're already helping another sibling with a crisis. But the rule is, these daughters can never be in a job where they would be in authority of a man (or even a teenage boy).

Also, the fundies here, while allowing for the daughters to live at home indefinitely, usually don't do the same for their sons. They generally find other fundie families who's sons are now 18, find an apartment to house them for as cheaply as possible, then, while they'll pay for tuition and books, the sons are on their own for rent and any other necessities.

They do this because they don't want their men to be weak. To them, unless a man is in school, it's extremely shameful for a wife to support the family, and even more shameful for the parents to have a grown son living at home, because they feel that means they didn't raise him right, or he's so undesirable that even the most desperate families don't want him for their daughter. If this is the case, then the son is usually shuffled around, staying with whatever fundie family will have him in exchange for work.

Didn't mean to sperg, but did want to mention about how the fundies in my area raise their kids. And this might be because I'm in a more progressive, expensive area, where no doubt they've adapted so they can continue living here.

Is this real life? The prison should start a gacha system where the rare prizes are sentence reductions, make some real money.

I'm unsure what u mean here, can u plz explain more? What specifically about the Renaissance period are they modeled after?

So, what kinds of jobs can women get, where they either 1) won't be in any kind of managerial position or 2) get a guarantee they won't...have men at their work that they won't, um, give them work to do?

An education degree is a K-12 certification, and when it comes to student teaching , you are required to do all grades/whatever your match is for that (student teaching is required for graduation, licensing, and verification of any k-12 teacher, it's the equivalent of the senior year internship of college for any (usually licensed) bachelor's degrees, also for licensed majors like social work, speech therapists, etc)

I'm not necessarily calling bullshit,
But the "barriers" in the way here as far as gendered work goes, or higher Ed, seem like it's already a deterrent for women in whatever fundie group you're discussing, and would make all that moot.

Specifically, what flavor of fundie/church are they?

I have no idea how they implement this, but I think the father/husband is the one who has to approve of where the daughter/wife will work. If they decide to teach, they usually end up teaching in a private christian schools. And they approve of nursing because historically it's usually associated with women, and is in line with the bible teaching of helping those less fortunate or those suffering. However, not sure if the women get to become RNs, or are only LVNs/CNAs.

Specifically, what flavor of fundie/church are they?
I think they're baptists, but not exactly sure. And they don't go to church, fundie or regular. I guess because their views are too progressive for fundies, but still too conservative for regular church, so they just join with other fundie families with the same views and have church services in their homes.

Are these just fundies in your area, or are you in this community? It sounds like you're just describing Independent Fundamentalist Baptists. They're not all Quiverfull or Gothardite (like the duggars). Assuming you're just taking about a different flavor IFB:

It doesn't sound progressive at all to me. There are more nutty, hardline christian colleges than you can imagine. Most of them, the accredited ones at least, talk about liberty and free thinking, in that the students are free to think only about the conservative christian worldview. There's one, Patrick Henry College that was developed especially for home schoolers, so they could leave the shelter of their family homes and go directly to the shelter and "vice patroling" of Patrick Henry College. If you look at their website, they say they want to teach students how to think, not what to think. However, they also refuse to teach science outside of literal, young earth creationism. PHC isn't the only one, these schools bill themselves as bastions of enlightenment thinking, but they're not.

"Classical Christian" and "renaissance-based/inspired" are buzzwords for their education philosophy (home school, k-12 and college), but what it really amounts to is that they're trying to educate tomorrow's ultra conservative far-right politicians, judges, policy makers, etc, by making them masters of rhetoric. They can debate complete nonsense without missing a beat, and catch opponents off guard with their ability to understand the other side's talking points. That's where philosophy and logic, and "enlightenment" education come in. They will defend to the death their belief that up is down, down is up, white is black and the sky is purple. They could probably get you to question if your own name is really your name. (They'll never use these skills for actual critical thinking)

Of course they're pro-education (as long as it's sheltered). How else are they going to train lawyers or the next judges who will legislate from the bench?

There's nothing progressive here. Also, keep in mind, the Duggars aren't interested in education, but a lot of their community is. John David Duggar's wife was a nurse before they got married. The first girl Josiah was courting was a languages student.

I'm skeptical of the women not working for men part. Only because most IFBs follow the reverse, for which there is biblical reference. MEN are not to work under women. It's one of the reasons many Gothardite IFBs are self-employed, doing lawn care or construction, towing, etc. They will never have to confront working for a female boss that way. Disregard this, I misread the OP

They're not too progressive or wealthy to go to an actual church. Home Churches are part of their beliefs.

But that's what they said: that the women in their local group are not allowed to be in a workplace where they are in a position of power over men, even if that "man" is a teenager.

I've heard this rumor for years, so I hope someone might have an answer, but didn't Oprah Winfrey offer to pay for nursing school for the Duggar girls that wanted to become midwives, but Rim-Job turned her down?
Something about he didn't want his daughters attending school with (gasp) heathen folks?

Jimdaddy bought Jessa a house. Which of course brought the trolls, but Jessa responded because she doesn't like being shamed for becoming a lazy broodmare like her mommy.

"The structure is great, and it’s got good bones,” she shared about them making it up to date. “We are dumping a decent amount of our savings into this, but we feel like it will suit our needs for the years to come so for that, it’s worth it.”

What savings? They don't work. And have 4 kids. But hey saving for college isn't impt to the Duggars so nbd.

Is it just me , or do Xtians love to post passive aggressive shit at each other under the guise of Bible/Jesus. I mean we've seen so many from Crazy Jilly Eyes and others, and we speculate "who she mad at?" Well Jana posted something cryptic about bitterness. JimBoob paid her fine so what's she got to be bitter about?
Isit cuz it's on her permanent record or something?

Jessa got a house for being A Good Girl and not saying anything mean when her rapist was sent to the slammer. That's about as deep as anyone needs to look. JB and Meech value Jessa very little.

Jill, the favourite daughter at the time, was given a large, new 4 bedroom house - off campus! - by Jim Bob the second she got married, despite the fact that her husband had a real job as an accountant for Walmart corporate who could pay their mortgage.

Jessa and her useless husband have been living under Jim Bob's dominion for eight years. They have one of the small structures on the Big House lot to share with four children. Jessa dutifully went on TV to defend her rapist brother, and never complained about not seeing a cent of her income from the many Duggar tv shows she was on.

And it wasn't until after Josh's trial that JB lifted a finger to help Jessa and her family.

They do not value her at all. I wonder if she values herself.

Don't know where this fits in the timeline, but I remember reading on Free Jinger that Jimboob called Jessa "Jessablessa" and she was bratty and bullied her sisters. There was some kind of contretemps about her breaking toys(?) and or a jewelry box (?) during a presentation at a fundie homeschooling conference in Nashville.

Probably not, but I doubt she's aware of that. I think almost none of the women do, but are completely unaware since they're told they only exist to serve man (either daddy Rimjob or their future husband) since birth. Tragic, but there's nothing that can be done except hope that more come to realize the truth, like Jill.

Rainbows but I think Jinger&the other Duggar girls who made statements condemning Josh might be taking a lead from Jill. Hopefully they'll also starting distancing themselves from their shitty parents and going to therapy and whatnot.

But yeah their beliefs pretty explicitly only value women for their abilities to be fuckmaids and broodmares. And if you aren't a virgin on your wedding night, you're garbage that no one will ever want. I'd be surprised if any of these girls did have some kind of actual self worth, at least not without exposure to the non-fundie world.

I think the jewelry box incident was that it was Jana's, and her most treasured possession. A sister wanted it, probably Jessa, and her parents made her give it to jessa because Jesus or something. Some lesson about sacrifice.

Joshie is having a nice vacay. With all those kids and how hard he worked in his life, he probably hasn't had time to make over 100 phone calls in years! He talks with his (actual) mommy every day, how sweet. Catching up with his in-laws, must be nice eh? Too bad Jedidiah ignores his calls! But at least David Waller takes his calls, is he still caring for a couple of Josh and Anna's kids? It came up earlier, and I can't even imagine as a mother Anna just shipping her kids off to her sister and BIL and staying in Josh's love suite at the Rebers. Those poor kids, like what screams My Criminal Rapist Daddy Comes First?

Josh Duggar’s Jailhouse Calls Include Chats With Wife and Brother’s in-Laws
Andrea Francese
Published onJanuary 12, 2022
Josh Duggar is reportedly being held in solitary confinement for his safety during his stay at the Washington County Detention Center, and in-person visits are suspended during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. That doesn’t mean Josh isn’t connecting with people, though. A prison log of his phone calls shows that Josh has been talking to his family and even one of his brother’s in-laws pretty often. In the month he’s spent at the detention center, he’s placed 100 phone calls.

Josh Duggar has received 40 video calls from his wife, Anna Duggar
Josh Duggar was remanded to a correctional facility as soon as a guilty verdict was read on Dec. 9. While he awaits sentencing, he has plenty of free time, and he appears to be using it to video chat with his wife. According to the U.S. Sun, Josh received almost 40 video calls from Anna between Dec. 12 and Jan. 2.

Anna, who stood by Josh for the duration of his trial, made a hasty exit from the courthouse on Dec. 9. She hasn’t been seen in public since, and rumors initially swirled that she was considering leaving her troubled husband. Based on the chat log, she is, at the very least, talking to Josh. All evidence suggests that she is still living in a warehouse on the Duggar family property. If a divorce is in the works, it hasn’t happened yet.

Josh Duggar has spoken to some of his siblings and even Justin Duggar’s in-laws
Josh Duggar’s phone schedule is pretty full, and he isn’t just placing and receiving calls from Anna. The father of seven has been in touch with other family members and even a couple of people only distantly related to him. According to the U.S. Sun, Josh has placed dozens upon dozens of phone calls to family and friends since he was remanded to prison.

The Sojo Files, a true-crime podcast, provided prison phone logs to The U.S. Sun, and the numbers that Josh is dialing are pretty telling. He even reportedly called the Spivey household in Texas. Josh’s younger brother, Justin Duggar, is married to Claire Spivey and is living in Texas, although in his own home. Josh also attempted to connect with his brother, Jedidiah Duggar, several times before Jed finally answered the phone.

According to the official logs, Josh has also contacted his mother and his brother-in-law, David Waller. Who Josh hasn’t called seems to be speaking as loudly as who he has reached out to. According to the logs, Josh hasn’t had contact with most of his adult siblings. The only adult sibling he has directly dialed is Jedidah. John David Duggar, Joseph Duggar, and Josiah Duggar’s numbers don’t appear on the log. Josh hasn’t attempted to contact any of his adult sites, either. His sisters, Jill Dillard, Jessa Seewald, Joy-Anna Forsyth, and Jinger Vuolo, were victims in a series of earlier molestation incidents

I'll pay for it for the first motherfucker who shanks his fat ass

And for only $109!

Daddy you're generous!

Any TCAP fans here? I can't find the mugshot of the chubby guy with the higher voice that looks like Josh. (But isn't Jeff Stacey, and also his thread here was fun, an incredible plot twist at the end, good times, worth the read, may still be a continuing saga with his ex and her arson and drugs cases)
