The order of Jim Bob's identities are interesting. One could argue he was "saving the best for last" with identifying as a follower of Christ, but the identities before don't seem to be increasing in importance. Also, who gives a fuck you're a "businessman?"As a dual-citizen of both Beauty Parlor and the Thunderdome, I sincerely apologize for the exceptionalism shown at the hands of the gullible, trolls, and general retards.❤
Lance Eads, who left his seat to pursue a career as a lobbyist, was rather unpopular. Jim Bob Duggar is even more despised.
Jim Bob is running against 3 evangelical conservatives in the Republican primary: Colby Fulfner is a Springdale Chief of staff fundie-lite, Edge Nowlin retired from IBM but is a classic boomer evangelical, Steven Unger retired from the Navy with multiple jobs including as a Chaplin. The Democrat candidates are Lisa Parks, family attorney, and Derek Van Voast, a coach.
There's not any way in hell Jim Bob has a chance. He's getting clowned on hard online. It's funny he claims he isn't a politician when he was one before in the 90's and early 2000's.

Edit: Jim Bob's campaign issued another pathetic statement. View attachment 2793489
1) Jim Bob isn't a businessman. Jim Bob hit it lucky with Discovery/TLC charting a full course for the trash television/freakshow audience and the few principles he seems to live by, like prioritizing the preservation of his marriage, has kept him and his afloat for 20+ years. He isn't the absolute dumbest man on a planet, and is at least bright enough to consult an entertainment lawyer to make sure the contract is fair.
2) Like any moderately successful politician, he has made some successful ventures into markets like car sales and real estate. Jim Bob identifies as a "businessman" because he has no real translatable skills to take care of his family, outside of "leading." Businessmen who are typically very successful at business don't identify as businessmen. In 2021, it's far more likeable to say you run a house-cleaning business with your sister and went in on some commercial properties with some money from when your grandma passed away.
