I do not. And because enough people agree with me in the greater community that the social contract finds it immoral to marry a child, we take legal measures to try to prevent it. You have the reading comprehension of a fourth grader at best, because the points I'm making just go over your head. The social contract that the Duggars and their ilk operate inside of in a cult finds ways to make this sort of behavior acceptable, because they all agree that it isn't a terrible sin. They have other things they see as a horrific sin, and focus on them instead. Morality isn't an absolute, it's something you buy into or you do not on a society by society basis. I do not buy into the values of their fucked up cult because I do not see those values as conductive to a society that protects the individual, the weak, those who cannot advocate for themselves, and seeks to ensure that people are treated as they agree to be treated, ensure that people are free to do as they please without infringing on others without their consent or agreement in the social contract, and otherwise promote a society that functions rationally.

I assume Anna and the kids went back to the shack they live in on the Duggar compound. Really hope those kids have contact with someone other than their brainwashed mom and JB and Meech, like I hope Anna isnt turning down any olive branches from Jill and Derrick. But unfortunately JB is probably going to try to tighten control on them since he's a narcissist and his golden boy is officially off to federal prison.

Yeah. From what I've heard, Anna and the M&Ms went back to the industrial barn on the compound. I suspect, now that Josh has been convicted of felonious crimes against children, a child welfare/protection department will step in and investigate/evaluate Anna and the M&Ms. For one, IIRC, Josh's parental rights could be terminated. The State will make an evaluation and decide if Anna is "morally fit" to maintain custody of the children (and...she most likely will be deemed fit). They transferred some property and businesses into Anna's possession back in the spring, so I assume she's also facing a forensic accounting.

I can see both points in cult like environments normalizing behaviors that larger society would deem deviant or wrong. And yes - I believe that joshes upbringing likely played some contributing factors to the Psychology of why he is so aroused by taboo/forbidden material. If josh grew up in a “normal” upbringing would he have fingered his sisters? Who knows but it is much more likely he would have developed healthier attachments and romantic interests to peers his own age.
Regardless of that conversation Josh without a doubt knew in his later life outside his childhood (and really probably even during his childhood) what he was doing was wrong. He knows he’s a disgusting pedo coom brain that was causing harm. And while I agree that societally we are conditioned in a lot of ways of what is and isn’t morale. There are more agency to personal morality than “do what my neighbor is doing”. Questioning morality is - in itself - a lot of how societal moves forward. (Or backwards depending on how you feel).

Also ethics and morality can be discussed with reasoning. Take an ethics class to challenge yourself. It’s not black and white. Morality, compassion, logic… ect… aren’t as distant neighbors as you think they are.

So to these fundies, while Josh did something horrible and wrong, the blame resides less on him and more on his wife and in the victims of his abuse. And thus they should forgive him because he wasn’t acting on his own control - Satan made him do it.

As a victim, it’s also an implication that God wanted you to suffer like this. Remember also that you’ve been taught that God is never ever wrong. So you must, must have done something wrong to be the victim. And the community of fundies often stresses that you’re responsible. Where’s the pamphlet these crazies use to try and explain why god is fine with sexual assault? Someone link that again, because obviously people haven’t read it in this thread yet who really need to.

The Democrat candidates are Lisa Parks, family attorney, and Derek Van Voast, a coach.

There's not any way in hell Jim Bob has a chance. He's getting clowned on hard online. It's funny he claims he isn't a politician when he was one before in the 90's and early 2000's.
