The homeschooling part, from my personal experience.

I would never have kids, but if I did I would want to homeschool. The culteral marxism is going way to far. I mean, fine. Be gay/lesbian/bi, fine....that's their business....but pushing it like they do.
When I was in school Michael Moore movies in social studies. These teachers are being like the Christians they hate so much. I was frustrated and wanted to learn things, NOT about what Micheal Moore thinks.

The public school system is such shit. This year we had a Provincial teachers strike. Bitching and moaning about their $85,000 yearly salaries. Pul-eeze. There are Doctors cleaning out drain pipes due to shit economy and prosecuting attorneys getting paid $35,000 annually. My dad and I who works in landscaping/construction have had it hard. I had threats verbal and pysical put against me for "taking jobs away from others" than teachers whining that they don't get paid in the summer......

Cry me a fucking river.....silly public teachers, and that's just one part of it. A lot of kids in that community are homeschooled because of the whineyness.

That kind of shit scares me. That level of entitlement. The kids seeing the teachers do that. Kids being around that kind of shit. Not cool. Kids were upset and wanted to move on with their fucking lives.
I'm just here to say that this guy was ahead of his time

You mean guys in their 30s aren't interested in chaperoned dates with sheltered women who've spent the last 25 years raising other people's children? I thought the promise of a maybe handhold at engagement time would've been a real draw!
I am. Having a sheltered and impressionable gf you can train to be a sex maniac? Sounds like the best girl ever.
Why the fuck is it going to take 4 months to sentence him wouldn't it be easier just to sentence him immediately after the verdict?
Turns out, court cases take time to find evidence and shit.

The Single mom arc is going to be very interesting. I have no idea why they think appealing is going to do anything but I suppose desperate times/desperate measures.

Yeah, you can qualify your statement but as it stands it's retarded. You could have pointed out why she stays in the family home, but you didn't.
I'll explain a bit on LDS and women: They have to wear those old-fashioned dresses for modesty. They must be chaperoned by men/can be married off into their teens as early as 12 by their fathers and are expected to be breeding sows. Any Kiwi more familiar with this Fundamentalist cult can correct me on this post.

Dude, just take a look at shit like the FLDS, and other fundamentalist shitholes. Hell, the trope about priests being pedos exists for a reason.

I have no idea how you could be unaware of it, to be honest.
Is that a "conservative thing" or a "cult thing" though? I'd totally go along with this if we're talking about "cults."

Look at NXIVM. Are we gonna argue that a cult of Holywood weirdos is "conservative?"

And yeah, NXIVM maybe wasn't pedos (it would not suprise me if that comes out some day though), but sex trafficking and slavery isn't exactly that much of an improvement.

I think the best way to approach this is to stay away from groups that get THAT deep into their religious or philosophical dogma and have "personality cult" type leaders. Regardless of whether they're left, right, or center. Those are red flag right there. If they're not raping the kiddies, they're probably doing some other shit they're not supposed to.

Yes, I know about the Catholic church. Word is that they had a pedo-purge once word got out, no idea if it's actually true or not.
Yeah, the "purge" was basically them moving the priests around parishes. It was pretty disgusting.

I think they did eventually crack down hard on it, but it took some pretty major leadership changes. Namely Pope Francis. He started excommunicating Priests who did that shit. Ironically enough, he has gotten shit from hardcore Catholics for being "too liberal."

I thought it was obvious from the context. We are talking about religious extremists after all.

He is kind of a public figure. Entirely possible the shit could have been planted or it belongs to someone else.

What are you even trying to say here. English is not my first language. Just trying to tell if you have an actual point or just schizoposting.

Not true. LDS women do not have to do that. Pentecostals and Mennonites do. FLDS does as well, but some Mormon families have folk beliefs and are terrified of sex shit so their behaviors may lean more toward FLDS practices, including the polygamy. Look at Romney's family for an example of this.

I did. She is forced to by the religion. It's not my fault that you can't figure out that "forced" does not always mean legally.
Nigga you stupid, you aren't "forced" by a religion in the United States to do anything, this isn't Saudi Arabia. She's either a true believer or she isn't. You reduce women to empty vessels that are easily manipulated and controlled, just like the fundies you rant about, so you aren't any different from them, just in your choice of ideology/religion.

Pentecostals? Eh, you're right as I know a Pentecostal zealot that wears long skirts and dresses. There's also debate if Pentecostalism is a cult or not.
I know Mitt Romney's a Mormon, so I'll promptly educate myself on this now. Thanks.

Guilty!

Best fucking news today.

Not only is this guy a scumbag rapist who messed with his own sisters but he got caught with child porn. Fucking amazing.

Burn in hell Duggar.

What in the actual fuck are you talking about. Are you so autistic that you genuinely can't understand why a cult would be able to have enough influence over people to force them to do something? Do you really think that stating facts about the cult and its influence is "reducing women to empty vessels"? Do your arms hurt from reaching so hard?

Families who adhere to religious principles either official or folk-beliefs, can make family members do a lot. Women are nothing more than holes to be used and discarded, this is a simple truth.

Depends on who the pastor is. Just like how Mormons in Utah are usually completely different than Mormons elsewhere. Some of these guys even abtstain from caffeine, which is not endemic to Mormonism.

He won't be going to hell, as he has not committed the unforgivable sin. He will be going to the Telestial Kingdom. Shame. He couldn't even hold out for daughterwives.

In many cases, I dispute that religious conservatives think sexuality is evil in and of itself. They think it is good within the context of marriage (how do you think they got all those kids?) Heck, even the Catholic Church teaches that marriage is a sacrament; that is, when a husband and wife fulfill their wedding vows by banging, they receive divine grace.

Rather, I'd say Duggar-type fundies have a bad approach to it. Chastity is not necessarily prudishness, it's understanding that your sexuality is a gift from God and that you shouldn't misuse it. A Christian parent shouldn't be repressing their kids, but teaching them self-control.

Because, let's be honest: porn and having a coomer mentality also fucks up your brain. It's a major part of the reason fewer people are having sex and there's an increase in loneliness, inceldom, and troonery.
Lots of early and influential church doctrine and theory had some very “don’t fuck ever and you should feel bad for fucking” elements in it. The relation in Abrahamic faiths towards sex and sin is very much evident and a fundamental part of the doctrine. This has been interpreted again and again by theologians all across time but in general sex as a necessary evil has been a prominent feature. While for most of history this sort of thing wasn’t being preached at the local church, the printing press changed a lot.

Most theological debates around sex and sinfulness tend to go in circles because of fun translation things, but there were a variety of sects that taught that original sin was Adam and Eve having sex. This certainly has an influence on St. Augustine, who as a married man is in a bit of a weird spot with all this. His view is that sex requires lust to happen, and as such the sexual act perpetuates original sin. Sex as a physical act divorced from emotion itself isn’t a good act either. While the act of marriage makes it not a sin (because it isn’t lust if it’s your wife… mostly) it’s not considered good either, which makes me wonder a bit about the love life of St. Augustine and just how much he picked up from the Mancheans. Paul also has a major influence on all of this, basically says that even marriage itself is a distraction from the commitment to God and should be discouraged and everyone should be celibate. Sort of. Paul’s letters were likely fucked with quite a bit during their integration into biblical canon. Gotta love early church arguments where various bishops attempt to murder one another over the relationship between the trinity, and how the serpent moved before being cursed by god. While plenty of later theologians and philosophers would go into the nature of love and sexual love when it relates to the divine, you’re blind if you think that St. Augustine’s views haven’t had a massive influence in the development of Christian doctrine from an early stage, and in thus, the modern fundamentalist Protestant sects, who seek a version of the religion that was never really preached or practiced before the modern era.

The weird thing about Mormonism is that the anti-sex sentiment is much more modern than in other religions. Joseph Smith was smashing 12 year old pussy left and right.

You mean FLDS. It's a breakaway from the main LDS. The latter considers the former a renegade.

Otherwise, I can confirm this because they WERE concentrated on the very northern border of my state. Google "Colorado City, AZ. and Hilldale, UT."

Scary thing is that Warren Jeffs (another pedo who is thankfully rotting right now) was running the fucking town from prison. The entire town police force answered to the church, and they had standing orders to intercept and bring the girls who ran away back to their "husbands."

There is some creepy shit on Youtube about this if you're interested. Including legit news stories.

I say WAS, because I believe the authorities finally managed to break that shit up. Took some doing though.

My point here is that I think some people want to assign a left/right dynamic to things like this happening, when it probably has more to do with the development of a cult like mentality and the leaders having too much fucking money. That's all.
